Armagh came good in the second-half to see off Antrim by 1-34 to 1-23 at Corrigan Park and advance to the semi-finals of the Ulster senior football championship.

A fired-up Antrim side had led by 0-14 to 0-13 at half-time despite seeing a penalty saved by substitute Blaine Hughes in the 20th minute, with ‘keeper Ethan Rafferty having been black carded for the incident which led to the spot kick.

The All-Ireland champions would go on to build up a 0-10 to 0-5 lead in the minutes that followed, but the home side finished out the half strong with scores from Dominic McEnhill (two-pointer), Marc Jordan and Ryan McQuillan bringing them to within one before Paddy McBride’s two-pointer put them in front.

McBride would sail over a similar effort to ensure that Andy McEntee’s side led at the half and doubled their advantage within the first minute of the restart.

The visitors got it level via an Oisin O’Neill two-pointer from a free and Ross McQuillan and skipper Aidan Forker would shoot over points ahead of Tomás McCormack bursting through and finding the top corner of Antrim’s net in 44th minute.

From there, the Orchard men would go on to stretch their lead into double figures prior to Ryan McQuillan grabbing a consolation goal for Antrim at the death.

The results means Kieran McGeeney’s side are now set for an Ulster semi-final date on April 26th against either Tyrone or Cavan, who square off tomorrow in Omagh (4.15pm), while Antrim are bound for the Tailteann Cup.
