The scoreboard at Pairc Tailteann after Storm Éowyn

As the country comes to grips with the aftermath of record breaking Storm Éowyn, the Meath County Board will have to make plans for a new scoreboard after it was ripped from its foundations at the Navan venue at the weekend.

The scoreboard has gone through plenty of change in the past twenty years and it has always held pride of place on the Navan O’Mahony’s end.

There will be a rush to get a replacement as the Royals take on neighbours Cavan next Sunday in round 2 of the National Football League, having lost their Division 2 opener to Cork on a 2-19 to 0-21 at Páirc Uí Chaoimh last night.
