Old rivals Cork and Kerry will face off in the Munster MFC final on Friday week at Austin Stack Park, Tralee after contrasting semi-final wins last evening.

While Cork needed a last-gasp Joe Miskella goal to edge out Tipperary by 2-17 to 0-20 in an extra-time thriller at FBD Semple Stadium, Kerry came from behind at half-time to overpower Clare by 3-16 to 1-6 in Quilty.

Miskella's late major sent a mightily-relieved Cork into their fifth provincial decider in-a-row after Tipp had forced extra-time on a 0-16 to 1-13 scoreline thanks to injury-time points from James Murphy and Rueben Grace.

The additional 20 minutes was a rollercoaster affair which saw substitute Daniel McCarthy and Ben Corkery Delaney put Cork in the driving seat, only for Tipp to reply with scores from Sean Griffin, Murphy and Ned O'Meara before Miskella won it at the death for the Rebels in shades of the Munster U20FC clash between the counties last month.

Favoured by a strong wind in the first half, Clare led Kerry by 1-5 to 0-5 at the break in the other last-four tie thanks to Gareth Murphy's 22nd minute goal. But the hosts were outscored by 3-11 to 0-1 after the restart when goals from Gearóid White, Kevin Griffin and Danny Murphy eased the Kingdom to a facile win.
