Men.

Junior 1 Football championship.

Round 2.

Result.

On Sunday last 10/8/25 we travelled to Bunbrosna to take on Moate All Whites in Round 2 of the junior 1 football championship.

On a perfect day for football it was Moate All Whites who was on the score sheet after one minute and were the better team right through the first half our lads really put in huge effort but it was Moate that went in at half time leading.

In the second half again we played second best to a very strong Moate team as they kick some fine scores. As the final whistle sounded it was Moate all White's who left Bunbrosna with the two points on offer.

It just wasn't our day but the lads will move on from this.

Our next fixture is St Joseph's in two weeks time.

Many thanks to Referee Jim Rock and his team of officials.

And to the Bunbrosna GAA Club on having their ground in immaculate condition.

Ladies Football, Fixtures, Results, and Reports.

Junior ladies football championship.

Report.

Our junior ladies began their championship campaign on Sunday evening last 10/8/25 against Delvin St Paul's in Ballycomoyle.

Missing 8 from our panel, the girls struggled to get to grips with the opposition from the throw in.

With only 15 to call upon the girls battled hard, but Delvin St Pauls took every opportunity open to them and took their scores well. A wrist injury to our captain didn't help the cause.

Onto the 2nd half and Ballycomoyle got stuck in, but unfortunately, a few quick scores from the opposition really made the comeback impossible. And try as hard as they could it wasn't our day.

Next up, Milltownpass at home. Friday 15-08 @ 7pm.

Many thanks to all our supporters who came out to support our ladies and to referee Mick Gordon.

Under 12 girls.

Our U12 girls played at home to Milltown on Tuesday evening last 5/8/25. We had a good turn out for this game and these girls played the best football they have to date. They worked together as a team and had a fantastic game. We are very proud of these girls, well done to them on a great game of football.

Many thanks to all the parents for bringing the girls to matches and training.

Minor LGFA Championship

The Downs 5-05 v Ballycomoyle 4-08

Draw game

Venue The Downs

Time 7pm

Ref Paul McCaughey

Our minor ravelled to The Downs on Tuesday evening last 5/8/25 for round 3 of the Minor football championship.

On a lovely evening for football Ballycomoyle started the brighter and really putting it up to the hosts. Missing 7 of the panel the girls who were on from start really showed superb heart and determination. At Half Time the sides were level.

Into the 2nd half and a forced goalkeeper change due to illness didn't unsettle the Ballycomoyle girls, but a fightback from the Downs was evident. Two determined teams really showing they wanted the victory. A unfortunate clash involving Ballycomoyle player Rebecca Ward unsettled the team, And natural worry for their team mate.

On the final whistle the teams were level.

Thanks to parents for coming. To referee Paul McCaughey.

Reports indicate Rebecca is alright.
