James Power scored 1-1 as Rathgormack retained their Waterford SFC title with a 2-10 to 0-8 victory over Abbeyside/Ballinacourty at a storm-battered Fraher Field.
Peter Walsh also found the net as the champions finished with a flourish to claim their 12th title. Favoured by the gale in the first half, Rathgormack led by four points at the break thanks to points from Jason Curry, Jason Gleeson and Conor Murray.
Abbeyside/Ballinacourty halved the deficit after the restart through scores from goalkeeper Aaron Beresford (’45), Michael O’Halloran and Diarmuid Mackle, but they couldn’t get any closer as late majors from Walsh and Power handed Rathgormack a double-scores win.
