If Cork defeat Tipperary in Sunday’s All-Ireland SHC final, they will hold the national hurling league, Munster championship and All-Ireland crowns all at the same time.
The last time all three titles went to Leeside in the same calendar year was in 1970, when Cork got the better of New York in a two-legged league decider before beating Tipperary in the Munster final and Wexford on All-Ireland final day.
In modern times, the Rebels are trying to emulate Limerick, who won all three in both 2020 and 2023.
The omens are looking good for Pat Ryan’s men, who beat Tipp in the league final and Limerick in the provincial decider, as in each of the last two years the team that won the national hurling league (Limerick in ’23 and Clare last year) went on to also lift the Liam MacCarthy Cup.
Can they make it three in a row – and a treble – this weekend?
