Easkey made it five Sligo senior hurling championship titles in-a-row tonight after battling past Naomh Eoin for a 0-15 to 0-12 victory at the Enniscrone/Kilglass GAA grounds in Quigabar.
Andy Kilcullen led the way with 0-7 over the hour for the Sea Blues whom had led by 0-9 to 0-5 at the halfway stage.
Kilcullen (two frees) and Paul O’Brien exchanged a brace of points each early in the restart ahead of Finnian Cawley blasting over a goal chance for the holders on 40 minutes.
Cawley and Adam Ralston raised more white flags that increased the Easkey lead to six and, while Paul O’Leary and Gerard O’Kelly-Lynch kept last year’s runners up in the fight until the finish, it’d be the reigning champions that clinched their club's sixth title here.
