Roscommon's Tadhg O’Rourke has announced his inter-county retirement.

The Tulsk midfielder made over 70 appearances for the Rossies after making his debut against Tyrone in the 2017 Allianz Football League. He won two Connacht SFC medals in 2017 and '19 and two Allianz League Division 2 medals in 2018 and '20.

O'Rourke missed the 2023 championship campaign after suffering an Achilles injury before returning to action this year.

Roscommon GAA chairman Brian Carroll said: “On behalf of everyone in Roscommon GAA, I wish to thank Tadhg for his dedication and commitment to the primrose and blue for many years at underage and senior level.

"Tadhg was a mighty leader both on and off the pitch and always wore the jersey with great pride and honesty on each of his 70 appearances for our senior team.

"I wish Tadhg and his family the very best in the future and thanks for all the memories.”
