Well well well intermediate championship weekend is upon us folks. I see podgr Coyle is in the middle. Jes I remember him and the brother playing for meath. Jes they were proper men hard as nails the two of em. Im sure he will put manners on the lads, but wont stop the Mountain men from playing there physical game against the townies. My men to watch would be Breslin Owens and then from the town would be Obrien. Fabulous weekend of football ahead. I'll be in HQ all across the weekend licking me lips. might have to leave to get an ezios for me dinner tween the junior and senior games meself. good luck to both teams but Jes Hill whitewash 10 pointsW atleast and thats me bein conservative.

The Hill have no right to win this game, as Owens so eloquently put it in his interview with Meath GAA. In my eyes, it's David vs Goliath, and the hardy men from Monaghan have nothing to lose. Rumours have it that Navan will be wearing their alternative strip for this one due to the colour clash. Isn't it well for some that they can afford to buy a new set of kit for one game? It really speaks volumes about the difference in funding between the city slickers and the bottom feeders from the country. I heard De La Salle were also getting soup and ham sandwiches after training! I'm expecting them to be moving like the Dubs with that kind of treatment. I still fancy the hardy men from Monaghan, even though De La Salle have home advantage. Hill by 6.

As you so eloquintly put it the hill indeed have no right to win a game (much like NOM had no right to play the premier two final at home on wednesday night nor no right to win that game haha). I think the occasion may get the better of meathhill & the noon throw in won't help things. Those lads will be trembling at the breakfast table struggling to eat their weatbix. much is made of the following mh have & that theyre the best supported club in the county (helps when ye have half of kells to carrick following ye) but that must be playing on the mh lads minds this week. all the flags and signs etc around the place brings a serious sense of pressure. whereas nom are blessed to live in whats now a soccer or rugby town where most of the population couldn't or wouldnt care. Mahonys in their change strip (maybe sky blue or navy) & bellies full of soup and sambos will come in under the radar and we may see an upset in HQ tomorow. Either way it makes for the game of the weekend & the year and I look forward to tuning in on clubr from the warmth of lanzaroti

Is it not tiring logging in and out three times, effectively talking to yourself on an open forum?
Asking for a friend from The North!

Hang sambos be no good again the boys from barley hill ( which is not Monaghan but co Meath) who have bin ateing hairy bacon spuds and cabbage for the past few weeks but have cut back today to pasta and high protein fish from Ballyhoe lake.. energy will not be a problem
PS I seen the Guinness van dropping in extra kegs and the pipes have been cleaned in the barrack as there will be a good flow of liquid win lose or draw … hold on there can't be a draw with the rubbish finish on the day crack with G.A.A. mind you fully backed in congress by Diageo

i'd say there was a special congress called when the barracks put in the order. no point in Mh supporters goinh thirsty waiting on another day and we all know either the north or ardbraccan will need whoever loses tomorrow for the regional and i think its wonderful that if someone with county ambitions doesnt give their best showing that they now have another chance in the shop window. hope ye enjoy the day that the pipes are sufficiently clean & ye dont run out of porter

What a final!
Meath Hill delivered the bravest display you'd ever witness.
Hugely deserved.

an entertaining game but a significantly suspicious calls made is all I say. 3 yellows to 0 is certainly an interesting statistic would be interested to hear what the foul count was. Mh 13 was my motm. say that cup will see the most counties of any intermediate cship in the country

They will be relegated next year. Was a poor IFC.

Game of fine margins, NOM were very defensive and never really went for it. They could have gotten over the line if they were a bite more decisive.

Few calls went against them particularly around over carrying, referee probably wasn't consistent in that regard. But a lot of nasty stuff from NOM too, I counted at least 5/6 yellow cards.

All in all, I think the best team won on the day, and overall they had a better IFC than NOM. It's always a struggle for any team to go up to Senior and stay there so Meath Hill definitely have their work cut out. Survival will be the goal.

Well done to Meath Hill on their march into the senior ranks. A stiff task lies ahead in Hawkfield against Kildare's Caragh in their Leinster opener on November 2nd. The very best of luck to ye.
