Oristown N.S. 2-7 Boyerstown N.S. 3-3

Scoil Chaitríona Naofa Oristown claimed their first Allianz Meath Cumann na mBunscol Girls Division 4 football title since 2018 with this replay victory over Boyerstown at Paddy O’Brien Park.

Like the drawn encounter last Sunday this game lived up to its expectations.

Oristown got a great start with points from Clodagh Carry and Grace Byrne and a goal from Pia Clarke. Slowly but surely Boyerstown worked themselves back into the game. By the 18th minute they were in front with points from Sally Buchanan, Zara Merry and Erin Matthews and a Kayla Fitzpatrick goal. Grace Byrne levelled matters before the very impressive Sadhbh McKenna raised a green flag to give Oristown a 2-3 to 1-3 interval lead.

McKenna extended Oristown’s lead before Lána Conaty reduced the gap to one with a well taken goal. McKenna and Hannah Byrne replied with points for Oristown before Boyerstown’s third goal arrive courtesy of Conaty again to level matters. McKenna nudged Oristown in front with five minutes remaining and despite dominating possession Boyerstown could not find the equaliser.

After the game James Brennan presented the Girls Division 4 Cup to Oristown captain Eimer Curley.
