Niall Sharkey will miss the remainder of Louth’s All-Ireland SFC campaign.

The Glyde Rangers clubman informed manager Ger Brennan after last weekend’s draw with Monaghan that he is heading to Australia next week. It means that he will miss the Wee County’s last round-robin game against Kerry in Portlaoise on Sunday week and the knockout stages which they have already qualified for.

Sharkey, who was Louth’s Senior Footballer of the Year in 2022, also travelled to Chicago where he lined out for Wolfe Tones after last year’s inter-county season concluded.
