Longford Slashers have appointed clubman Conor Clarke as their new senior football manager.
Clarke is a former Slashers player who led the club’s ladies team to All-Ireland intermediate glory two years ago. He won a Leinster MFC medal with Longford and two Connolly Cups with Slashers as a player before going on to manage the ladies to a five-in-a-row of county titles at junior and intermediate level.
He also coached the town outfit to their first county MFC title in 18 years in 2019 and now replaces Tommy Donohue as senior men’s manager.
“Conor stated he is honoured to have gotten the job and can’t wait to get started. We are already looking forward to the season ahead!” the club posted on Facebook.
