Kilkenny defender Tommy Walsh looks set for an extended period on the sidelines after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury while on club duty last weekend.
Walsh went down with the injury during the opening minutes of Tullaroan’s senior league win over Clara last Friday night.
KilkennyLive.ie reports that the 27-year-old’s final prognosis from his scan result “has not been a good one”, as he now looks set to miss the majority of the Cats’ 2026 campaign as a result of the injury.
The news is a major blow to Kilkenny boss Derek Lyng who started Walsh in four of his side’s seven championship outings this past season.
