Hello to all ,
Sure it looks to be a runner , why I choose Cavan is because of our Gaa tradition in Ulster in Croke Park and indeed in The Polo Grounds in Newyork in 1947 so that is International recognition for Cavan and it is not because my extended family is into accommodation.

If we agree sure we could get Hoganstand to sponsor prizes
No1 Best Senior poster who posts , informative, educational, and inspiring posts
No2 Best Junior poster
No3 Most improved poster (, ough Killing Fields could be in running ).
No4 Most egative poster , strong competition will come from Viking 66 , say nothing, Ulsterman and few more
Let me know your views"
The categories there number 1-4 are hilarious :-)

How about a prize for the poster with the most HS profiles in operation, which requires serious amount of time and effort to be on here Trolling?

Viking is a great poster to be fair to him, as an immigrant in Wexford the county needs more posters and supporters like him. All seasons, Jan-Nov, he's at hurling and football. He would be worthy of supporter of the year.
Is a junior poster a former senior poster whose best days are behind him and he is now playing junior?

Tomsmith here

I feel that us senior posters yes ones with North of 4000 posts should make an effort o be inclusive to junior Poster who may feel marginalised the same as teams away out in the Country from the bIg Towns ,
I know first hand how it feels to be seen as small time poster as I did my stint before I became a leading poster on HS with good quality, educational, informative posts.
So lets all ( including the negative posters ) get behind the Christmas party idea ,

No 1 to No 4 was only a working document or white paper .
As you can see I have tried to include all posters from Positive posters to the negative ones and as the great Mrs would ofter say to me , Tommsith its impossible to please everyone.
But back to the Christmas Knees up bash , sure we could Use Cavan Town or go away down to Kells ( Home of H S )in Leinster . It has to be remembered that attendees to Kells would incurr Toll money .'
I am to understand that the Headford Arms Hotel would be the place to go , A historic medieval Town that boasts being close to the birth place of Francis Ledwidge of balckbird fame.
But back to our proposed Christmas do could we get some idea of numbers and I understand that some of you have several different Handles for posting under ( according to commodore away up inDonegal ) ,but we would need some idea of who would come to this do

Just dropped in to see what progress if any you are making with your social project, I'm not convinced it has caught on just yet, not to worry though as Christmas is good bit away as of now, however in my opinion it's still very much a closed shop.

Categorizing your project on a scale of 1 - 4 is a bit iffy as it is if you are basing your structure on the NFL div. 1 to div.4. if that is the case no poster from div. 1 in particular will buy into the idea of 2 up, 2 down year on year.

It may very well be that no poster from the top divisions will qualify for nomination on international politics, neither can I see any poster qualifying for posting on world leaders / politicians / war criminals, also, no poster seems to know anything of important about their own country, its history, its trials and turbulation's etc etc etc. That effectively means that your first 3 categories of 1, informative, 2, educational, and 3, inspiring posts will be few and far between. So that leaves category 4, now you have often alluded to the fact that negative posting is quiet common with the big noises, so you are going to have tough and unpopular decisions to make on your final and overall selections. - - - good luck with that.

I have used the term Christmas Ball instead of a wee Christmas get together.
AS a senior Poster I am throwing it out to all
Sure it would be great to meet Red and green from Mayo, say nothing from County Tyrone and ough how I would love to meet Viking 66., Ulster Man
I suppose Killing fields from away in Limerick would have to be included .
Sure a central place would be Cavan Town and I am aware , that the home of all good conversation is the Imperial
I will throw it out and see who you would long to meet in the flesh and why"
You didn't mention me. I am wounded!

Very good post :-)

But you seem to be suggesting that posts on the non GAA forum should be included in the analysis. Opens up all sorts of possibilities! I'd never be brave enough to post there so watching now to see who is selected to go to this ball, the elite of hoganstand.com.

Can us peasants be sent a few highlight video clips where we can marvel at the true genius on display in Sunday Game fashion?

Could there be a 'ball tracker' where we get updates?

15' - tomsmith thanks all attendees for attending & guests are served €4.99 bottled wine

32' - ……

47' - ……

Thanks slayer. No I'm not suggesting anything like that but reading it again it does come across that way unintentionally.
Tom being the originator of this project I'm sure he will shortly add his T & C's I'm sure too that he will cover all possibilities, he seems to be implying that the elite of HS posters will be treated no differently than us mere mortals.
You yourself seem to be a certainty for inclusion on his backroom management team.
Lots of possibilities.
