Looking Forward To 2026

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

A podcast is suggesting up to 10 counties could be in contention for the All Ireland football championship next year. Hard to argue against that. Dublin and Armagh were knocked out at the quarter final stage in recent years. 2007 was the last time the All Ireland was retained without home advantage. On this basis, Kerry will be underdogs. Tyrone, Armagh, Donegal and Dublin will be favourites. Galway and Mayo will be in contention as well. Monaghan, Derry and Meath will be looking to mount a challenge as well.
A good few weeks of club action now to enjoy.

Reports this morning suggesting Andy Moran is the favourite to take the Mayo reins.

Kerry are hot favourites for next year and barring injuries to the Cliffords, O'Shea, White, Foley or Joe O'connor, this will be the case until they are knocked out. Dublin, Mayo and Galway have greatest scope for improvement with any of these teams capable of making a final. Tyrone likely to push on too.
Will be interesting to see the Ulster style defensively next year with Kerry having humiliated four teams this year. The Leinster championship could be very interesting next year too.
