When are the national league fixtures out for next year farneygael3 (Monaghan) - Posts: 332 - 06/08/2025 09:12:38 2630224 Link 0 |
I think it's usually early December they get announced but they'll be circulated early to All county boards. Kerry travelling to Ballybofey or Armagh could feature early I suppose!

Whole looking forward to 2026, Im wondering will there be a few tweaks with the rules i.e. 4 loint goal, limiting handpasses etc. CiarraiMick (Dublin) - Posts: 4072 - 06/08/2025 12:32:30 2630265 Link 0 |
Kerry also many years qualify by beating Div. 4 teams.

Well it looks as if people are getting their wish..cork/Kerry seeded isn't doing much for the so called weaker counties.it's all down to my own county, which disgusts me..voted against what players and management wanted. CTGAA10 (Limerick) - Posts: 2582 - 06/08/2025 13:53:36 2630270 Link 0 |
Kerry Vs the Dubs in Croker under lights guaranteed to be the first game.

With regards to format, I think Gaelic football has all the answers at present. Each province could run its own provincial championship in January/Feb, whatever format they want. The current NFL format would be brilliant for championship, only as long as promotion, relegation is part of it. How exactly it is all setup would be for a committee to discuss. slayer (Limerick) - Posts: 6530 - 06/08/2025 14:24:38 2630276 Link 0 |
No coincidence that Dublin designated Croke Park as home league venue in 2011 and there was an improvement in their championship results. Could you imagine staging All Ireland quarter finals, semi finals and final in Ballybofey?!

No coincidence….? No just that a generational bunch of players came along at once to form the best team I've ever seen in my lifetime. The dubs could have had training Tuesday and Friday night in Croker this year and still wouldn't win Sam. David Clifford now there's a coincidence….what a player.

When was the last time Kerry beat a decent team in a final? Donegal and Galway are hardly top of the tree

Home league ground advantage will keep Dublin in contention. That grain of rice as the wise man said. It has to be said.

Do they get only half a cup if the losers aren't designated as strong by you?

Wow.Thats amazing..Since that happened we have onlu beaten Dublin in the championship once (2022 semi). Thank goodness they did declare Croke park their home ground in the 70s or 80s or the team under Micko Dwyer would never have beaten them. Also thank goodness they did nt declare Thurles their home venue in 2001. The cute feckers probably declared Austin stack park their home venue in the league last year. Dublin beat a team that had a curse on them a few times - that's hardly fair is it?

Kerry offered tossing a coin for home advantage in 2001. Dublin declined!

Kerry being in Munster is also a grain of rice going by that logic.

It's funny that some people are critical of club championship coverage when this very Hoganstand is keeping us all up to date with club news from all around the country! legendzxix (Kerry) - Posts: 9081 - 07/08/2025 12:05:35 2630397 Link 0 |

Kerry have won provincial championships by playing all games in the backyard of their opponents.
