Whole looking forward to 2026, Im wondering will there be a few tweaks with the rules i.e. 4 loint goal,limiting handpasses etc. On the provincial set up.I disagree with the seeding of Kerry and Cork. I I also think Munster football gets bad press because of Kerry s dominance.Leinster has been a stroll for Dublin for years and this year there is a shock by Meath and then Louth win. 5years ago,Cork beat Kerry and then Tipp beat Cork. While we all have to admit Ulster is the strongest province by far follwed by Connaught,Im not sure the standard of Leinster is that much better than Munster. It is better i will admit but not by much.Cork are constantly ridiculed by posters but Cork drew with Kerry in the Munster championship this year and only list in extra time in a cracking game. Well it looks as if people are getting their wish..cork/Kerry seeded isn't doing much for the so called weaker counties.it's all down to my own county,which disgusts me..voted against what players and management wanted. I really feel for jimmy and the players..it shows how much respect our county board have for them..our fellas had cork worried until reduced to 24 players..I think our board need to stop hiding now and say what is behind this.. It's very possible that players will walk away after this and another rebuild needed..limerick got promoted,were unlucky in Kildare match..it's the only province who is keeping stronger counties apart..it looks to me that it's a completely financial thing unless someone can explain otherwise..I wonder what happens now at county board meetings?do clubs get any say at all?? With regards to format, I think Gaelic football has all the answers at present. Each province could run its own provincial championship in January/Feb, whatever format they want. The current NFL format would be brilliant for championship, only as long as promotion, relegation is part of it. No just that a generational bunch of players came along at once to form the best team I've ever seen in my lifetime. The dubs could have had training Tuesday and Friday night in Croker this year and still wouldn't win Sam. Thank goodness they did declare Croke park their home ground in the 70s or 80s or the team under Micko Dwyer would never have beaten them. Also thank goodness they did nt declare Thurles their home venue in 2001. The cute feckers probably declared Austin stack park their home venue in the league last year. It's funny that some people are critical of club championship coverage when this very Hoganstand is keeping us all up to date with club news from all around the country!
