I think Kerry. I don't know by how much but I think they will be comfortable - unfortunately. Cbar (Mayo) - Posts: 373 - 24/07/2025 15:45:21 2627710 Link 1 |

Kerry have the experience, that's massive, they have the tradition, they have probably the greatest forward of all time in David Clifford and many other excellent players. Tirchonaill1 (Donegal) - Posts: 3383 - 24/07/2025 18:04:10 2627743 Link 0 |
I'm inclined to agree with Donegal. McGuinness is a master tactician and it will be interesting to see how they can shackle D Clifford. I think it will be close, very close.

More a hope than a prediction Al_Maguire (Donegal) - Posts: 324 - 24/07/2025 18:40:28 2627757 Link 0 |
I don't think shackling Clifford is the winning or losing of the game. If he gets enough ball he will get his shots away and will score enough of them. The key for Donegal is winning the battle further out, getting a good hold on the kickouts and not being turned over in possession too often. If Kerry turn them over they'll move it quickly into forwards with loads of space and you're talking almost guaranteed scores then. It's how they turned the screw on Tyrone. They were defensively very solid and prevented Tyrone from working easy kicks, often winning the ball back and countering. WanPintWin (Galway) - Posts: 2460 - 24/07/2025 18:58:40 2627763 Link 0 |

Either team better suited to a dry day? Expertinall (UK) - Posts: 7 - 25/07/2025 01:19:29 2627815 Link 0 |
heart says Donegal, head says Kerry but not by much ModernMaharaja (Donegal) - Posts: 119 - 25/07/2025 08:49:23 2627832 Link 0 |
It would suit Kerry's kicking game more you'd imagine. Kick passes are lot more high risk on wet days. Look to Kerrys two final losses in the last 10 years, both against Dublin and both on wet days. peiledoir20 (Donegal) - Posts: 1289 - 25/07/2025 09:49:25 2627841 Link 0 |
A wet day doesn't suit a fast moving possession game either, where handpasses have to be very precise at pace. It leads to a lot of handling errors. I think the dry day will suit both teams' preferred styles. WanPintWin (Galway) - Posts: 2460 - 25/07/2025 11:28:31 2627863 Link 0 |
