Kerry Champions 2025?

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

After bogey start to league this year the kingdom men came good to win the league against mayo. Any time Jack has won league Kerry have won championship in same year. Bar meath game Kerry have steamrolled every team in championship. Had a lot of injuries and have everyone back bar Ban Dan Sullivan Gavin Beasley and Diarmuid O'Connor. O'Connor should be fit for final. Can kerry be stopped?

Looks to me that Kerry are raging hot favs and after destroying Tyrone here today it will take a very good team to stop them.

Wow....are you sure you're from Kerry????? Kerry fans are usually a lot more tentative with their predictions and they never come across as cocky.

If Donegal's first half in the Final is anything like the 1st half of their last 2 games, the game v Kerry will be over at half time. That Kerry forward line and midfield will have a field day.

Monaghan had Donegal on the ropes by the end of the 1st half of the 1/4 final, and until Menton went off injured, Meath were well in the game yesterday, with the Donegal kick outs particularly vulnerable.

Kerry will also have a near full clean bill of health, despite all that previous talk of a depleted squad.

People are already talking about Clifford v Murphy, but Murphy is 36 in a couple of weeks, and no longer at his peak.

It will be very interesting to see if Jim have weave some magic, but I think Kerry have a better team tbh.

Kerry have been in 3 of the last 4 finals I think I heard? anyway they are favs to win this in my book anyway, we can beat them of course if things go right, but I think Kerry are primed for this and if we produce our best football on the day it's going to be a hell of game.

Not a lot between them.
But it is gonna be a hell of a test for the Donegal men.

Looks like Donegal have won the toss and will play in their normal kit.
Kerry will be wearing their Dublin blue kit.... ;o)

Battle of the poor mouths so! It's the best 2 counties this year meeting in the Final, could go either way.

He is certainly not from Kerry. Kerry men wouldn't be blowing their trumpet like that....

Thats a fair point.
In a 20 man game - Donegal have the advantage due to Kerry injuries.

If Donegal run the legs off Kerry's middle 8 - they dont have 5 high quality replacements, whereas Donegal do.

I wouldn't be surprise to see Murphy start on the bench - he will be needed for the last 20 and hasnt played 70min too often this season.

My big hope for us is that we can be there or there abouts around 55 minutes. Then Jim pushes the button and unleashes even more legs from the bench that will hopefully be enough to edge things in our favour.

But, Kerry have the weaponry to disrupt even the best laid plans. If for example, David Clifford puts on one of his virtuso performances, or Seanie starts lamping over two pointers then even the best teams can become spooked. e.g. Armagh in the quarters.

Ah sure look now matter who ya meet in an All Ireland final it's gonna be a big test.
It will take another big performance from our lads surely. I would be a bit more nervous if Eamonn Fitzmaurice was in the Kerry hotseat. He's a bit more shrewd than Jack O'Connor I think. But anyway, an exciting couple of weeks ahead.

How many main player injuries do kerry actually have now though.?

I am hearing O'Connor will be back for the final.

All year we have been hearing that they are decimated by injuries.
I dont think their injury list is like that now....

Kerry's FF line is top class and add SOS to that 3.
The Donegal defence will have to play out of their skins to contain them.

I expect Murphy will play the full 70 barring an injury. He played 70 mins in any of the games that went down to the wire and 90 in the Ulster final. It was only in games were Donegal had a comfortable lead he was whipped off.

Murphy being out is a massive blow. Would much rather Kerry focus on nullifying him and allow rest of team to continue business as usual. Guaranteed 3 points from play minimum regardless of how much focus he gets. Step up Shaun Patton for long kicks.
