Some clubs being punished for having lads on a successful Meath football team. Belt (Meath) - Posts: 275 - 06/07/2025 19:59:26 2623980 Link 2 |
Yeah agree on this. Sure when have the hurling side of the ccc made any sense in what they do. All above clubs would only love to play first Round with them lads.

Its a damned if they do, damned if they don't situation for the CCC. Move the games and there's a risk of the other clubs having two rounds played (should Meath win) before these four even swing a stick. That also has a drip down affect for those with second teams. Kilmessan and Kildalkey could stack second teams for IHC if no SHC this week. There's also very little space in the calendar once the football championship gets up and running too. County board at very start of the years said that unless there was exceptional circumstances, games wouldn't be moved and if they were, they had to be played by the following Wednesday anyway. So it makes sense to just leave as is and have the four clubs play. I doubt it's going to have a massive impact tbh, it's not like Kildalkey, Ratoath and Kilmessan won't qualify out of the groups. No games really matter in round 1 just a continuation of a league. dickie10 (UK) - Posts: 860 - 09/07/2025 14:17:37 2624633 Link 0 |
agree, only game that may be competitive is the Ratoath Kiltale, but both will be missing player, both will qualify out of the group, and both won't give a jot about the result come the end of the round robin. Unfortunate, that the county players are not available but there's very little space to maneouvre in the current structure. hurlingcowboy101 (Meath) - Posts: 35 - 10/07/2025 10:07:37 2624765 Link 0 |

Unfortunate that this is the excuse of a competition we have for senior hurling championsip, the preseason cup games and leagues are more cut throat than this thing. any wonder meath county senior team gets swalowed up and spat out against likes of donegal and london, next year it could be armagh and cavan beating us dickie10 (UK) - Posts: 860 - 11/07/2025 10:49:45 2624939 Link 0 |

Bit of a nonevent in the first round as was expected. No upsets or suprise's really. The only thing that stood out for me and this is an ongoing thing was the standard of our ref's, i was at 3 games over the weekend and 1 ref was in charge of two of the games (1 of the teams plays his own club next), i had a friend with me from a different county and he didnt know weather to laugh or cry watching him. Yellow cards to beat the band and of course a rew red cards as well on both games. Tobefair80 (Meath) - Posts: 89 - 15/07/2025 13:57:41 2625836 Link 0 |
