St Annes V Ferns Annes are one of my favourite clubs in Wexford. They just get on with their business at both underage and adult and seem to bring through one or two lads every year to their adult teams. Having their two retired inter county stalwarts fresh is a big bonus. Ferns on the other hand still have a good mix of youth and experience. On paper they are a decent outfit and potentially a last 4 outfit this year. Paul Morris went off with a hamstring last weekend and is a big loss. Therefore giving win to Annes by few points
Oylegate V Crossabeg Possibly a defining game for either clubs season and important for either to get a win. Both were poor in the first round. Difficult to turn around in a week though Crossabeg are due to have few more players back. On paper Oylegate have the better panel of players and I do expect them to eventually overpower Crossabeg and take the win by few points.
Rathnure V Gorey This is an interesting tie - maybe early days for Gorey so possibly not at their best. Looked impressive in their Round 1 game and have very few (if any) weak links through out the lines. Rathnure have been building their team over the last 18 months and are getting about their business without too much fuss. On their day they have some of the most dangerous forwards in the game and I do think the wide open space in Wexford Park suits them. However Gorey's forwards are no slouches either and I do think this game might be a little too much for a young Rathnure team that is without the injured Shane Lawlor and possibly Eamonn Wickham. I'm going with Gorey by 3
St Martins V Rapps Even without Rory and Jack O' Connor I don't see this proving too much of a problem to a St Martins victory. Rapps had a good ACHL victory earlier in June but only for a few late scores they were poor against the Shels in Round 1. The Martins have the players to nullify their scoring threats. Martins by >5
Glynn V Shels Glynn are a strange bunch - two U21 teams out tonight and a host of premier minor titles over the past number of years but still cannot get it together at Adult level. In reality haven't competed for Senior honours since the early 00's and have just been floating around for last number of years. Should have been relegated in '23 except for a Rathnure self destruction. Shels, though not spectacular, have a good mixture of youth and experience. Conor Hearne has become a powerhouse at midfield and a true leader with Simon Donohoe controlling things at the back. Both had good wins last weekend but I expect Shels to see out this one by a few points
Harriers V Oulart Possibly the game of the weekend as both will be fighting for survival after two Rounds. Chin returns for Harriers and naturally will bring a huge lift. Oulart will be seething after coughing up a win in Round 1. I haven't seen Oulart play this year. Have seen the best and worse sides of Harriers but I do think with Chin back and the forwards that Harriers have, they will overpower Oulart. I am going to go with a Harriers win by a few points" Has Rory left for Australia already?" St Anne's v Ferns-St Anne's will beat ferns by 5-6 I reckon paul morris is a massive loss for ferns!!!
Oylegate v Crossabeg-I think this will be close but il give it to oylgate by 2-3 point but wouldn't be surprised at all if they got turned over by crossabeg
Rathnure v Gorey-i think rathnure will win there fair share of games in this championship and they will give Gorey plenty of it,rathnure have good forwards that can put up good scores but there defence is very poor and I think gorey Will wear them down and have too much fire power,Gorey by 6-7
St Martin's v Rapps- I think the rapps are a team under serious pressure this year,St martins had a handy day out v harriers last week, prob looked better than they are!!! I think Rory is here for this game and heading away then,I think Martin's will win handy any it could be any amount!!!
Barntown v Shels- I think oulart should have won the game last week v barntown,I don't think barntown will trouble anyone else really I think they will struggle for the remainder of the year,il go with the shels by 6-7
Faythe Harriers v Oulart- I don't think it was a true reflection of what the Faythe Harriers are last week, the should have beat Martin's last year really, they were missing chin who's worth 10 or more scores between play and frees,he keeps the forwards goin with Kehoe keeping the goin from the back!!! I think we will see a different Harriers team this week and they beat oulart by 6-7!!! I really think Harriers will be there abouts this year when they get lawlor back too!!! I think oulart are a team under pressure this year too, might struggle to get a win in the group!!!should have beat a bad barntown team last week and couldnt"]Rathnures defence very poor ? How do you draw up that conclusion? Conceded 1-12 against Crossabeg, with only 1-7 coming from play"]Rathnure probably have the best young back who isn't playing intercounty. Along with Joe Barrett of the Martins.

Sorry just seen Aj at the end of the post there, would have him down as the best young back!!! I'd go as far as saying he isn't even a back really!!! If he had to defend as a proper back he wouldn't cut it,that's why he's a sweeper!!! He was in with wexford and wasn't up to it

Replying To Viking66: "U21 is adult" Yes always was but did nt think amalgamations allowed at adult Tara rocks hurling Kilanerin football As far as I m aware they have to transfer into tara rocks or kilanerin after minor . Vice versa . 2 separate clubs at underage but amalgamated . So at u21 which is adult I m sure there were probably minors playing u21 . So tara rocks affiliated and kilanerin affiliated players playing for a team that does nt exist at adult. Or am I missing something here . Nit saying they doing anything really wrong but rules are rules just more curious than anything else . Fethard are nt mogueen gaels at u21 as an example Question can they be called ballinstraw gaels Oli/st fintans 2 separate clubs too but almagamed underage and I see u21 too although they conceded . Again just curious . Would it not be a case of isolated players who don't have a team but then only 2 can play with any other team .

I always try to stay away from that type of language. Unfortunately these things are very often down to personality clashes or lads not being given a proper go and getting fed up.you have to manage talent very carefully and I'd argue we're notoriously bad at it.

Every year the players have to transfer back and forth. It's an unusual situation for sure.

Is Tadhg De Burca a sweeper with Waterford for the same reason .. Or Kevin Foley under Davy . Rathnure played a sweeper through out last year to leave a 2 man full forward line .. no different to what the Rapps did a few years ago with Kevin Foley when Skippy was managing them. A tactic that seems to have benefited both Clubs I don't know AJ from Adam .. Did AJ (or Rathnure backs) clean you out in your day ;-) on and 'there' in this context is spelt 'their'
