Replying To supersub15: "Davy's passion for the game is unequalled, if there is a hurling county out there with the same level of passion as Davy has and sign him up then success will follow."
"Passion" hes just a wild you-know-what. You cant just go around ranting, roaring insulting people etc etc and call it passion. So Brian Lohan or Coady had less passion for hurling?
Replying To Doylerwex: "I'd probably take him back in Wexford in 3-5 years when the next group are ready but only for one contract.
He did a good bit of damage to our development in spite of the bit of success."
If it was a couple of years ago, I'd have said yes absolutely to this but I've kind of soured on Davy. His antics really can't be excused any more. Saying that Johnny Murphy has a vendetta against him and that petty comment about Sambo McNaughton not being so successful at management the last day, tell a lot about him IMO. Petty and vindictive when he feels slighted.
We had some great memories from his time here and I definitely thank him for his efforts but I have been entertaining the idea lately, in my own mind, if we squandered a generation of great Wexford players with him as manager. People outside the county might not agree but I'll bet most of us here in Wexford feel that core group that's starting to step away under achieved. A single Leinster title is a bad return for, what I feel at least was, a genuinely talented bunch of hurlers. Maybe I'm just mourning a team I had high hopes for, which is coming to an end.

Exactly, you don't see kiely at it either. Remember the time Davy was reminding Waterford players that he had 2 all Ireland medals and they had #### all....
Davy is a complex character. There's no doubt there's some good in him, but he has some very poor traits and lets himself down regularly with his behaviour. The hypocrisy is another issue. He's been on radio and TV regularly highlighting the issue of abuse and bullying. All very commendable. Except he'll dish out the same abuse in spades himself the next time he's on the line. He also has a real habit of making things personal. I'll always remember a league match between Clare and Limerick many years ago when Davy was in goal. Clare were miles ahead on the scoreboard and the game was done. Limerick had a free-in late on which was completely immaterial. There must have been a microphone near the goalmouth because we could clearly hear everything Davy was saying. The abuse he was giving the Limerick freetaker as he lined up the free was unbelievable. Everything from mocking him, rubbing it in that they were well beaten and far worse. All of this in a game they had wrapped up comfortably. He obviously hadn't become an intercounty manager yet at that point, but it said a lot of me about his lack of class at times.
Replying To Yadse: "his course could be run at intercounty level Plenty of newer managers coming up and Davy seems to be more of a distraction than anything else I dont know much about Antrim hurling but Sambos comments should be an alarm bell, (he hasnt managed them in more than a decade so you would have to assume he spoke from the heart) and their results were poor in league and Championship
Davy's management career rode on the tails of the 2013 AI by Clare but I wonder how much if that was down to Kinnerks coaching"
He was mad to go to ye Yadse ye might now be out and Davy would say " im very proud of those boys so I am " he has some very good points in fairness but always deflects when the pressure comes on blaming Johnnie a bit much we are mad about here in Clare { Johnnie I Mean }

I would share that feeling to be honest. The lads that are left turning 30 and starting to break down were capable of winning more and now we're starting all over again.

The point is he consistently knows where the microphones are in his career
