Replying To Commodore:  "These groups are all very unpredictable, hard to determine who will go straight though to the Quarter finals, Kerry is the only one I would expect to definitely top their group. Outside of that, Its wide open.

Group 1: Donegal, Mayo, Tyrone, Cavan.

Group 2: Kerry, Meath, Roscommon, Cork.

Group 3: Louth, Clare, Monaghan, Down.

Group 4: Galway, Armagh, Dublin, Derry."
Group 4 is brutal. Kerry should sail through. Louth have a great chance at going far.

Predictions

Group 1: Donegal, Tyrone, Mayo, Cavan.
Tough group and Donegal could as easily finish 3rd as 1st as Tyrone in two weeks is not enough time after that epic. Thankfully the week turnaround match is to Cavan.

Group 2: Kerry, Cork, Roscommon, Meath,
Kerry fluke the group again and should make quarters with ease. Meath may struggle to pick themselves up after losing their All Ireland, Cork capable of beating Rossies and I'd fancy them for second

Group 3: Monaghan, Louth, Down, Clare
Monaghan have never had such a path to an All Ireland Quarter Final. Still capable of losing to either of the three but should make no mistake. Louth will beat both Down and Clare so its just a case can they beat Monaghan 1st up. I'd say no, they'll still be celebrating by then.

Group 4: Galway, Dublin, Derry, Armagh
Any combination of the four would not surprise me but I'll make one big prediction. Derry will beat Armagh in the first game. Galway beat Dublin then Armagh v Dublin becomes a basic shootout. Armagh will only have a week to prep and go to Croke Park and will need the full deck and team to beat them. They very well could but after losing to Derry, they'll be underdogs.

Hopefully whatever comes out 2nd and 3rd in group 1 and group 4 don't run into each other otherwise I think we may have some soft quarter finals from other two pots.

Ya the biggest annoyance about the group stages is that nobody would be surprised if all of group 4 were semi finalists in some other scenario, whereas it would be a major achievement for any of group 3 to make a semi final. Far far too lopsided.

Louth were by far the worst provincial winner and will not cause too many problems to the bigger teams… A lot of needless games now being played to just eliminate 4 teams… nonsense stuff

One of the worst ever provincial winners was in 2020 in Ulster. Great games with big crowds to look forward to.

I suppose there will be the usual commentary around low attendances. 12 of 16 teams start the All Ireland having lost their previous match. Supporters in great numbers don't get on board that kind of bandwagon!
Kerry v Roscommon
The Munster final was underwhelming before and after. Roscommon were underwhelming in their loss to Galway. It is up to Roscommon as underdogs and challengers to make a game of it really, just like Cork did in the semi final. Are Roscommon supporters expected to travel in big numbers?
Galway v Dublin
Would seem the likeliest to attract a big crowd. Galway off the back of another Connacht title. A repeat of last year's quarter final in a tough group.
Mayo v Cavan
Mayo off the back of a disappointing loss. Cavan missed out on promotion and lost tamely to Tyrone. Not sure where the Cavan bandwagon will be for this one. Maybe the novelty of going to Castlebar will entice them to spend their money!
Clare v Down
Clare were the only finalists who didn't perform. This game is a big opportunity for both. Can't see there being big Clare support. It will be over to Down to travel in big numbers.

I doubt if we'll even bring our usual League crowd to this.
As it's likely Kerry's last home game of the year you'd expect 10,000 of their supporters to turn up plus 400 of us.
Galway v Dublin with hurling around 16k
Mayo v Cavan 8k
Clare v Down 4k max.

Lads foreverblue is just as unpopular with Cavan posters as the rest of you. Stop countering his nonsense with your own Cavan nonsense or acting like he speaks for the county

The hurling quarter finals double header doesn't always attract a big crowd considering 4 teams are playing. A bit of a lull after the provincial finals. There seems to be a box office expectation though in football!

The louth hate continues if I remember correctly 6 weeks ago you thought we'd be relegated and lose the lensteir semi-final. We've proved you wrong once before maybe we will again.
