Some win for London on the opening round of the Ring. Meath and Kildare have traded places in recent years. Kildare will be looking to avoid the Ring this year. London will be looking to keep Meath there. Derry won the battle of Ulster. Could be Derry battling Meath for a place in the final.

New York should be let nowhere near the Lorey Meagher Cup… They should find their level by starting at the top and falling rather than playing in competitions they are obviously too strong for.. Yet another huge mistake by the GAA.. It just shows a total lack of respect for the weaker hurling counties wham they are parachuted into the lowest level.. Shame on the GAA hierarchy

Cavan seem to be making serious roads with development two good wins

New York are a Christy ring team.

They have senior club hurlers from Galway, Tipp, Kilkenny etc.

They wouldn't survive in the Joe McDonagh but they'd definitely be better than the teams in the Lory Meagher & Nicky Rackard.

Similar to London.

"MOTION 20: The proposal is to change the Lory Meagher Cup to include New York to play in the competition. The second placed team in the round robin section would play a semi-final against New York in Ireland. If New York end up being promoted, no team would be relegated from the Nickey Rackard to replace them. Whatever upper tier New York end up in, then that would have an extra team in it with the same format applied. New York would play a semi-final against the second placed team. In any year that New York fails to reach a final, they would be involved in a relegation play-off against the bottom round robin team."
New York probably are a Christy Ring Cup team but have to go through the motions to get there on and off the park!

Their progress will be halted by the ridiculous GAA decision to allow New York enter the Lorey Meagher at the semi final stage and steamroll their way to a title in a competition they clearly shouldn't be in… Why are New York being handed 2 handy All Irelands while the die hards working with lower teams in the LM and Rackard cups are made wait… What on earth have New York done for hurling in this country..? Another GAA boo boo

Are the two finalists promoted or just the winner of the final?

Winners of each promoted. No relegation from NR to LM with New York's inclusion.
