In conversation with equally astute Gaa followers in a Cavan Town hostelry it was mooted by the great Mrs T that what was needed in Cavan was a group of people ( Male and female accepted ) that would advise or assist the permanent Cavan County senior selectors . It was stated by an astute person that in the past a few footballers escaped the net and subsequently emigrated or stopped football. For instance small Clubs away out in the Country from a big Town could have a big fellow who could deliver for us in our time of need . Remember a whole host of great Cavan footballers never went to St Pats, never played underage but delivered for the County later in life. These are the type of finds we want to make now . I am sure loads of posters would know a fellow of two that should get a County trial

Tpmsmith here After Sundays near miss we definitely need to unearth any new talent that is out there. I dont know what the small Country team players are like but in times of need to need talent. Should it be big fellows that play for wee Country clubs we need you. I have to remind all that I was formally a person that advocated that our manager only pick from big Town teams like , Cavan Gaels, Kingscourt, Ramout, Downs ,,
Its very sad that no one will come up with a few names to help out in our time of need . Currently we are down on our knees and with relegation staring us in the face we need suggestions . I recall that I discovered David Givney years ago myself.. I saw him play and I felt he was County material and I put it up on this site . The goal that he scored in that drawn Ulster final vindicated me .. So Lads and Lassies help our selectors to unearth your undiscovered County talent .
