Replying To LimerickandProud:  "How do we feel about Wexford coming to town on Saturday evening?

Even though neither team has anything to play for I expect Wexford will provide a tough challenge .

I feel like Shane Dowling has edged ahead of Jason Gillane in the for the Number 1 jersey and I would think Gillane might get a final shot at it this weekend.

I feel like Sean Finn and Mike Casey both need more game time as they were a little off the pace in the last two games. If they are fit and available Declan Hannon and Darragh O'Donovan would need to see action (otherwise its hard to see them being dropped into Munster championship intensity). Adam English and Colin Coughlan could do with a break as they have been going hard at it with Limerick. I would also throw in Flanagan (to see if he can find some form) and Peter Casey (just to give him some game time).

My Championship Starting 15 at the moment on Current form and assuming all fit and available:

1. Shane Dowling
2. Fergal O'Connor
3. Dan Morrissey
4. Barry Murphy
5. Diarmuid Byrnes
6. Kyle Hayes
7. Barry Nash
8. Adam English
9. Will O'Donoghue
10. Gearoid Hegarty
11. Cian Lynch
12. Cathal O'Neill
13. Aaron Gillane
14. Shane O'Brien
15. Peter Casey

16. Jason Gillane
17. Sean Finn
18. Mike Casey
19. Declan Hannon
20. Colin Coughlan
21. Darragh O'Donovan
22. Tom Morrissey
23. David Reidy
24. Seamus Flanagan
25. Aidan O'Connor
26. Patrick O'Donovan/Ethan Hurley/Vince Harrington/Michael Houlihan/Donnacha O'Dalaigh"
While I agree with most of your team, I would definitely not start Fergal O Connor. He hasn't had a whole lot of minutes in the league either, so if fit I would start Mike Casey. I agree with the rest. I feel Aidan O Connor can feel unlucky seeing as he had a very good lead but a fit Peter Casey is better. That bench us unbelievably strong too.
Regarding this weekend if fit I think Declan Hannon, Darragh O Donovan Mike Casey Sean Finn Tom Morrissey Gearoid Hegarty Kyle Hayes and Peter Casey all need to start to build up game time.

Think your right Limerick&Proud that Wexford will give a god test, they were missing so many during the league and not that some are back will want to sign off with a good showing.
We have a lot who haven't had much hurling, Hannon, O'Donovan, P.Casey, T. Morrissey etc who we don't really where they are at, fully fit most of these would start. Will be interesting to see if any get game time Saturday. On present form championship team I'd go with:
S.Dowling
B.Murphy
D.Morrissey
B.Nash
D.Brynes
K.Hayes
C.O'Neill
A.English
W.O'Donoghue
G.Hegarty
C.Lynch
T.Morrissey
A.Gillane
S.O'Brien
A.O'Connor

Re championship 15 injuries etc make it hard to call but its hard to see Tom Morrissey especially or even David Reidy not starting
Assuming one or both do, you could see Cathal O Neill back in half back line or even WOD
I dont see Feargal O Connor starting if most are fit.
There are big question marks on both Mike Casey and Sean Finn in the full back line, and starting both of them together might be a big risk pace wise one could well start or else you could push Barry Nash back into CB. I think Kiely might like having 2 pacy CBs in Nash and Murphy

Colin Coughlan is clearly being given a lot of time to claim a place in half back line but am not sure he has done enough
And I think DOD will be given chances off the bench to claim a place in midfield

For Wexford game its impossible to say who he will pick - its all about injuries, game time, who they want to look at.
I do think Finn, Casey, Flanagan, Coughlan, O Brien Murphy, and Aidan O'Connor will play either find some form or further advance their claims
Byrnes, and if fit Peter Casey, Dan Morrissey will also be looking to start.

I'd start Sean Finn,I'd play cahal o neill at 7,move lynch to midfield, reidy c/forward,English at 12(but not staying there, rambling role..inside line of Casey,o brien and gillane..dowling looks like front runner for keeper at present..

Good to see daragh and Declan named for weekend..going by the 15 starters I couldn't make an effort to name team for first championship match..was hoping Peter would be involved..slightly worried to see Dan missing again as he has hardly missed any match in last 6/7 years..
I'll be watching to see how the newer fellas get on Saturday night..

All very quiet in the Limerick camp. Which is usually a good sign.
Any news on the injuries, have the niggles for Kyle Hayes, WOD and Dan Morrisey cleared up?

Hard to try and name the team for Sunday. JK has suggested there will be changes this year. Does that mean some of the old tried and trusted will be left out.

Who plays centre back is an interesting one. If Hannon was fit could he start or will it be Kyle Hayes. Could he also try something different and slot Barry Nash in there?
Adam English played so well in the earlier parts of the league and then faded a bit, like most everyone else. Will he start or will JK want his impact of the bench? Will the Bull and Gillane play as the top two and Seamie be dropped? Much more questions than answers at the moment. But looking forward to Sunday and to Friday when the team will be named,

I heard there are no major injury concerns (other than Nickie being out). I think Kyle is a dead cert for Centre Back.

My Team would be

1. Shane Dowling
2. Sean Finn
3. Dan Morrissey
4. Barry Murphy
5. Diarmuid Byrnes
6. Kyle Hayes
7. Barry Nash
8. Adam English
9. Will O'Donoghue
10. Gearoid Hegarty
11 Cian Lynch
12. Cathal O'Neill
13. Aaron Gilliane
14. Shane O'Brien
15. Aidan O'Connor

Declan Hannon , Darragh O'Donovan, Tom Morrissey, Peter Casey, Seamus Flanagan, David Reidy and Colin Coughlan all to see game time

That would be a very strong Limerick team even the bench has serious depth. Hard to know how Limerick & indeed Clare will go neither featured in latter stages of League can you turn it on come championship time hard to call.

Id say Kyle Hayes would be nearly a certainty for CB they will be well aware of the Cork Threat down the middle.

That would be close enough to a starting 15. However, Tom Morrissey had a decent league and is one of Kielys go tos. I think he will start for sure.
Reidy is also one who usually starts but brings good impact from the bench
Aidan O Connor was excellent in the league but not sure he will start him
And I wonder if DOD is deemed match fit? He will be raring to go
The only other possible change I would see is Finn in CB. I am not sure he is back to his best. A toss up I would say between him, Casey, and Nash for CB
If Nash goes back then Cathal O Neill or DOD could move back to half back line
Of the subs it would be great to see Peter Casey get time as he brings pace to our forward line. Also Hannon - if we was back close to his best then for sure we could leave Nash in the corner where we need his pace, maybe not v Tipp but sure sure v Cork

I was having a toss up between Tom and Aidan O'Connor and I went for Aidan on form based on the league games.

Darragh O'Donovan ran the show against the Tipperary midfield in the league last year (until he got injured) so if he is fully fit he could be put in.

Hannon will have a big part to play this year. I don't think he will start but given his cool head, and the way he can read the game and distribute the ball, what a player to bring into the chaos in the last 15-20 mins to steady the ship.

Great to see Nicky back in starting team..some huge calls made with starting 15 but he did say there would be changes.bench looks very strong with 5 all stars, however no sign of Declan.
Tipp starting team has a couple of surprises aswell..a few of them involved with their 20s midweek..no Willie or gearoid o Connor..
Has the makings of a great game and I really hope limerick get up and running on Sunday.

I certainly didnt
It was clear from the noises from the camp that he was much further along than we had expected. I figured they were hoping to get some game time into him prior to the AI series, hoping we could get out of Munster without him.
Dowling has done really well, and I wasnt worried about him, but Nicky is a huge addition

And some surprises in the team - I have to assume Dan is carrying a knock, but I am really surprised at leaving out Tom. And I didn't expect Colin Coughlan to start. And a big call to leave both Hannon and Flangan out of the squad. (Assuming they are fully fit).
Limerick need to evolve and with all of Murphy, Coughlan, English, and to a lesser extent Shane O'Brien starting, and with Hayes at Center Back we are seeing that
I dont see this one as a blow out. I think it'll be a single score game. Hopefully we can do it. If not the pressure will be huge

There wasn't any talk at all about Limerick team or panel not even a sniff of who was going well in training etc. I suspect Dan Morrissey isn't fully fit otherwise had to start but with a few weeks left to taking on Cork and Clare if he is not right they cant chance him.

6 all-stars on the bench: Dowling, two Morrisseys, Finn, Peter Casey, and Daragh O'Donovan.
