Cavan Seniors 2025

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Mayo & Donegal fans writing us off completely. Tyrone probably similar but much quieter about it.

Time to stand up and be counted. Prove them all wrong. A repeat of Castlebar.

Wishing Cavan the best on Sunday. Great to be involved. Nobody has given Cavan a chance since forever, but loved the comments after the Mayo game. The shock. The uproar. The patrionishing. ''Not to ignore Cavan, but......''
Great to be playing Championship

Tyrone. Always Tyrone. The pain. The many years. The pushing and pinching. The loses. Please this time, let it make it for a change. Seen Cavan lose to Tyrone only. Oh the Under 21's was brilliant. But saww Cavan lose in Gunter Murphys in Munchen in Ulster Final 2001. Conradh na Gaeilge in League Final 2002 in Bruxelles. Clones, Croke Park, Enniskillen, Breffini, and Omagh. And more. It sticks. Best was the 2005 first day. Oh they gave it well that day. Then a reply battering......

Great to be going. Imagine. Just imagine if...
Sure RTE might even ignore Jimmy McGuinness if things go well. C'Mon Cavan. Maybe....

Does anyone have the stats from the last two games?

I know from in the last Tyrone game Cavan won 26 kickouts to Tyrones 28 (albeit Cavan won a number of short kickouts after the game was won).

I know 0-7 of Tyrones total came from the Cavan kickout while 1-9 came from turnovers.

Crazy that I can watch the minor games as many times as I want for free on tg4, yet after paying 80 quid can't even watch a recording of the senior matches.

Also, is it true that Jim McGuinness didn't shake Ray Galligans hand after the game last week ?

Its a sign of the times when there is now no interest in Cavan football no one with any interest in todays match and everyone expecting the worst and no fault to the stalwarts on this cavan team who have served the county exceptionally well over the past decade some of them with ulster medals at minor under 21 and senior but the future looks extremely bleak out only hope is to draw down in the next round and let this team retire with dignity

Beating Mayo 3 weeks ago put Cavan through.

A bigger scalp than Monaghan have or will manage in this year's championship.

Aah yous group of fair-weather supporters.. Total crowd of whingers and moaners.

Its disappointing for sure, but if anyone though we could hold a candle to kingpins then your seriously deluded. I said before that the objective was to win 1 game in the group stage to be in with a chance. We did it and we are through. The hope is that you learn, continue to evolve and prepare for the next hurdle.

If you think we should have been knocked out today and go home, then you have absolutely no business commenting on GAA. Why? because you don't have any clue about the fundamental of GAA and what its about. GAA is about where you come from win, loose or draw, no lying down and certainly no feeling sorry for yourself. So get a grip you pathetic so called supporters

Great post.

The posters you're referring to said we'd lose all 3 group games and went very quiet when we beat Mayo. They're back out in force since the Donegal game.

They're not Cavan supporters.

Whisper that and don't let your county man Foreverwhinging hear it. According to him those games are nothing games and dont count. You played by the rules, won that game, finished ahead of Mayo and now deservedly have prelimany quarter final to look forward to. You are right we haven't taken a Div. 1 scalp this year yet. We are in Croke Park in a quarter final and will likely have to take a big scalp to progress. Having said that, for a team in transition we are moving along nicely.

You transitioned away from Beggan last year amd very quickly had to transition right back!
He's key, and he ain't getting any younger.
It's not transition - with himself amd McManus still there, it was now-or-never. Now, it's never.

Same with a number of counties. Sean Patton missed the Tyrone game and it was the difference in Tyrone topping the group and Donegal in prelim quarter final. Niall Morgan dictates play for Tyrone. Dublin brought Cluxton out of exile and still playing at 42/43. Beggan about 10 years younger.

kingoftheding89 & all 11 followers is back. The nosy neighbours can't let up.

They've got a QF from the easiest group and should be happy but cling onto their obsession with Cavan GAA.
