In all honesty what difference does it really make who we have in our group…?

Always gonna lose all 3, regardless

We would be far better off in the Taltainn Cup.. I doubt we would win it but 3 hammerings in this group will do nothing for the young players on the panel and will surely hasten the retirements of some of our older players… Hopefully we can be in some way competitive…… ForeverBlue2 (Cavan) - Posts: 3875 - 30/04/2025 17:29:18 2605801 Link 0 |
yep savage draw. With all the rule changes this is the year for upsets. Yeah we are no kingpins atm but get a win out of the 3 and you never know. Its happened several times already in previous years ponger (Cavan) - Posts: 557 - 30/04/2025 18:37:01 2605831 Link 1 |

We could potentially have been drawn in a group with Louth/Meath, Clare and Monaghan. So no, not losing all 3 regardless. cavanman47 (Cavan) - Posts: 5246 - 04/05/2025 10:25:30 2606569 Link 0 |
All those 4 would beat cavan.

Based on what?? We've beaten Monaghan last 3 championship meetings. By highest margin in half a century last season too. We'd be 60/40 to beat Clare. Meath closer to 50/50. cavanman47 (Cavan) - Posts: 5246 - 09/05/2025 16:19:44 2607859 Link 1 |
Good luck to the senior hurlers today in Longford… A win and they are into an All Ireland Final… ForeverBlue2 (Cavan) - Posts: 3875 - 10/05/2025 11:17:56 2607987 Link 0 |
The Mayo game Sunday is realistically your best chance of an upset.. Belclare7 (Galway) - Posts: 258 - 12/05/2025 22:44:54 2609030 Link 0 |
Watch out for the Dubs cause they will be the ones causing an upset at the weekend not cavan sorry to the cavan guys on here!

Tommy Conroy will probaly feature, good for a few scores but not as accurate as O Donghue. Paddy Durcan could be back too. O Shea is a good target man inside but not a natural finisher.

At the end of day, Mayo should have beaten Galway. They panic in tight games. It was the runners from deep that destroyed us this time last year. But hopefully keep it tight and you never know what can happen with Mayo 97Cavans (Cavan) - Posts: 410 - 13/05/2025 16:04:34 2609271 Link 0 |
At the end of the day we were massive underdogs going into the Galway game . Galway we're meant to beat us out the gate by half time sure . We don't panic in tight games but we let our guard down. We also tend to play to level of opposition . Cavan you are decent team and we won't underestimate you unlike the Galwegiom above underestimating mayo as per usual . At least you can't park the bus like you did in last years dour awful game . Tommy conroy won't feature but Paddy Durcan will. S1234 (Mayo) - Posts: 161 - 13/05/2025 19:29:51 2609347 Link 0 |
Massive underdogs is a strech. Ye were playing in Castlebar against the biggest rivals. Mayo are a divisiom 1 team and made a league final. Galway without Walsh and Comer also. Mcstay is there 3 years and hasn't much to show.

I see Paul Faloon is refereeing on Sunday, the same man who reffed the Louth and Cork league games. So plenty of physicality, pulling, dragging etc will be let go. Hopefully Cavan can take advantage of this 97Cavans (Cavan) - Posts: 410 - 15/05/2025 11:19:26 2609781 Link 0 |
