Replying To Jedobi:  "You say late noughties, yer Wexford reached an All Ireland semi in 2007 and lost to Waterford by a point in the 2008 All Ireland quarter finals, I know enough about Wexford's past performances. Also fans in Wexford probably have a much better opportunity to influence things at grassvroots than fans in the UK."
True too, forgot you were an expat jedobi. We reached a semi in 2019, and several QFs in the last few years. So we are hardly doing worse than then. The years I was talking about were 2009-2012. In the teens we got knocked out of Leinster at minor by Laois twice and Westmeath, so we are doing better at that grade too the last few years.
Easy to get depressed, and then look at the past through rose tinted glasses.

Replying To Afinestick96:  "Hard luck to the minors they kept battling to the end. Darragh Ryan looks like a very good player . Will we have O Brien and Wickham back for the all Ireland series. Hopefully the minors can get a win or two in the all Ireland series"
Darragh Ryan definitely much better at centre forward than centreback.

Replying To hunting:  "Very good second half from the lads, Darragh Ryan is some talent. Well done to Galway they deserved the win. Can't help to think what difference O Brien and wickam would have made. Are we out of the all ireland series now?"
We will be playing Clare or Limerick next, not sure which of them.
We set up far better in the 2nd half, went man on man at the back, and delivered the ball quicker forwards. Amazing what a difference playing more positively makes. We have some excellent minors, who will hopefully keep developing. Also we have used more than 30 players this year I think, which is great from a development point of view. Plenty lads getting top level experience.

Replying To Yellowhelmet:  "And that is the season over.

Few 1000 in wexford Park next week for meaningless game.

Gone then for 7 months.

Depressing."
Yes another year of might of beens. Hopefully we beat Kilkenny now.
Hopefully the minors can beat a Munster team for the second year in a row in a knockout game. We have never done that before. In fact we have only beaten a Munster team in knockout minor hurling 3 times ever before last year, since the grade started in 1928.
On the way home from Carlow now, where we managed to snatch a draw from the jaws of victory in the Football......

Has anyone heard anything about ROC going to Oz?"
Old news, he's heading over to see family and friends.

Replying To ElGranSenor:  "He's hardly going to make wholesale changes though, would guess that it'll be 10-12 of the first-string and then 3-5 of the so-called "fringe players""
Dont think hes going to put out a full team give some panel members a run out see how they cope its a dead rubber makes no odds to them.

Pains me to be critical of team and management but that was very poor yesterday. That was glorified Joe Mac standard from both. Amount of mistakes and unable to execute basic skills. Missed frees. Needless fouling. Over complicated use of ball leading to more mistake. Players out of position- especially in forwards.
I've seen a lot of hurling and would be as loyal and optimistic as any Wexford fan but we're miles off it.
Players ultimately have to execute but to me they look to be poorly coached - maybe even over coached.
I'm sure they are all hurting this evening- they should be. But they are our lads, our players and we need to stick by them. We will bounce back.

Next week is a dead rubber so why not just go out a play positive attacking hurling and get rid of all the negative tactics because we're afraid of loising.

Nothing to loose.

I don't think there is anyone who thinks we'd have had a good year if we end up beating KK next Sunday

No. While it's always nice to beat Kilkenny I was genuinely hoping we would make a Leinster Final this year, same as I do every year.

Bit of a shambles of a season in truth. Relegated in league and only being above Offaly and Antrim in Liam McCarthy is nothing to crow about. Tactically we were a mess and we continue season on season to fall further away from being genuinely competitive. Some of our younger lads are showing some positive signs of settling at this level. But we are missing that solid core of senior players in their mid 20s/30 to build a team around. Injury seems to have done for a few of them sadly and others only put it in when they feel like it. Until that's addressed we are at nothing.
