Replying To Viking66:  "What are you talking about? Sad decline of a once great county? We haven't been great since before I was born, and that was 54 years ago. We have the odd good year, but you have serious delusions of grandeur if that's what you think."
Thanks, read the post, doesn't it make it clear our lack of success in recent times and phrase once a great county, I didn't say we had been great in recent years. Nothing deluded, I'm pointing out how poor we have bern. Hard work this forum when you can't even read a post properly.

Replying To Cockney_Cat:  "I disagree. If Kilkenny beat Dublin today, their focus will be solely on winning the Leinster final and a place in the All Ireland semi-final. To that end, next Sunday's game will give Lyng a chance to try out a few of the fringe players and rest any players who are carrying slight knocks or might benefit from a break."
He's hardly going to make wholesale changes though, would guess that it'll be 10-12 of the first-string and then 3-5 of the so-called "fringe players"

I read your post. It implied that we were continuously declining now. Not sure how old you are but you obviously weren't going to games around the late noughties turn of the teens. We were considerably worse then.
Yes we have been poor enough this year, but not as poor as some are making out , and certainly not as poor as we were then.
As regards underage a few years back we didn't even qualify for the Tony Forristal competition. Last year we reached the A final and were level with Kilkenny at the end of normal time. The u15As won the Arrabawn Shield, and the u16As reached the Michael Foley A final. Which was all better than most of the Liam McCarthy counties managed overall, never mind the Joe Mcdonagh ones.
What are your expectations for us? And what are you personally doing to help realise those expectations?

Looking at the minors the very same as yesterday running into traffic in the backs, opposition players free the whole time the second goal was shocking defending foul him at least ..with or without sean o brien we be still getting well bet

Getting hammered here at half time against very good Galway team. We were up against it from the start but to lose sean o brien and wickam our two best players was a massive loss. Just hope they can keep it some way respectful in 2nd half because it looking ominous at the moment. Also i think this is the minors four or fifth week on the trot, ridiculous again from the gaa fixture committee.

Replying To twbm:  "I disagree. That goal that wasn't resulted in 2 more goals for Dublin in quick sucession while the Wexford players were still coming to terms with yet another poor pivotal decision called again them. Wexford didn't play well but 100% would've won against Dublin. And as an earlier poster said, they haven't recovered from that decision.
Look at the Clare game last year, Rory yellow carded after 7 seconds! For what? Nothing. Kilkennys penalty last year... its hard to recover when you constantly being knocked."
It's incredibly refreshing to hear that from outside our county

Hard luck to the minors they kept battling to the end. Darragh Ryan looks like a very good player . Will we have O Brien and Wickham back for the all Ireland series. Hopefully the minors can get a win or two in the all Ireland series

Very good second half from the lads, Darragh Ryan is some talent. Well done to Galway they deserved the win. Can't help to think what difference O Brien and wickam would have made. Are we out of the all ireland series now?

You say late noughties, yer Wexford reached an All Ireland semi in 2007 and lost to Waterford by a point in the 2008 All Ireland quarter finals, I know enough about Wexford's past performances. Also fans in Wexford probably have a much better opportunity to influence things at grassvroots than fans in the UK.

You'd wonder how the Minors would've done had they played better in the first half and had they had O'Brien and Wickham available

That turnaround tells me that the Minors' biggest issue isn't ability, it's mentality. The sad part is that this is also the biggest issue for the Seniors as well IMO

I also don't really agree with the U20 and Minor championships being run off so early, would be better finishing them at the same time as the Senior championship and would be better off moving Minor back to U18 and U20 to U21

And that is the season over.

Few 1000 in wexford Park next week for meaningless game.

Gone then for 7 months.

Depressing.

I'd love to see our season prolonged but that's for the best.

Has anyone heard anything about ROC going to Oz?
