Sunday December 15

Sarsfields (Cork) v Slaughtneil (Derry), Cedral St Conleth's, 1.30pm - TG4

Loughrea (Galway) v Na Fianna (Dublin), FBD Semple Stadium, 3.30pm - TG4

A double header in Thurles would have made as much sense surely? Must have to boost Newbridge after the renovation. Hardly handy for either Sars or Slaughtneill."
Newbridge is around the same travel time for both and mostly motorway or fast A road for Slaughtneil and all motorway for Sars? Thurles would be a terrible journey for Slaughtneil."]Agree with you Viking. Thurles would have been an awful long journey for Slaughtneill. I think St. Clonleth's is an excellent choice and might even head down myself."]Was thinking of heading up there too. See how Santa goes first...."]Viking congrats to Rathnure. A club steeped in tradition and former greats. Are they on the rise again to make Wexford great again?

They will likely do better at Senior when they go back up, but not sure they will be contenders to win Senior, unless they can get everyone to buy into the athletic development side of the game. They have skilful exciting players, and definitely have good hurlers. But sadly in this day and age that's not enough by itself.
There's maybe 5 lads there who would possibly be good enough for Senior Intercounty given they put in the work, but 2 don't want to, 2 missed the intercounty season this year with injury, and the last was on the u20s this year.

Compared to say a club like St Martins who have a very strong gym and fitness culture in the club.

Would they do do much S&C out that way or have they access to a club gym in Rathnure?
