Yep they looked a tired team alright. Sarsfields were much the better team today. Fionn (Dublin) - Posts: 4009 - 01/12/2024 16:48:32 2581872 Link 0 |
Great win for SARS. Turned them over all over the field. Pressurizing them on every ball. Ballygunner might have looked tired today but far from a spent force. Look at what youth came on today and more to come. It was SARS day and good luck to them going forward. Canuck (Waterford) - Posts: 2878 - 01/12/2024 17:00:35 2581877 Link 0 |

SARS were excellent today, starting 15 and their subs.

Did Portaferry throw that away or did Slaughtneil win it? Ulsterman (Antrim) - Posts: 9787 - 01/12/2024 18:33:30 2581900 Link 0 |
Slaughtneil are an unbelievably fit team

And 3 points down at the finish. Slaughtneil stepped up big time and finished very strongly. Two very interesting semi-finals in store. WanPintWin (Galway) - Posts: 2195 - 01/12/2024 18:35:11 2581902 Link 1 |

Sars were 8/1 and Ballygunner were 1/14 for today's game. Bookies were way off, and a glaring example that they don't always get it right! Ryanteam (Cork) - Posts: 399 - 01/12/2024 18:44:51 2581907 Link 0 |
Oh god poor portaferry should never have lost that final..however full credit to slaughtneil, they never gave up the ghost..they will fancy chances against sars..sars gave a great display today and were full value for the win..na fianna were very good again last night..can't comment fully on loughrea, only saw 2 matches in those they dug deep to win..if I'm to call the final pairing,I'd say na fianna/slaughtneil..however wouldn't call that with full confidence.. The natural hurling ability and class of Na Fianna against the honest hard working and less polished Loughrea. BarneyGrant (Dublin) - Posts: 3188 - 01/12/2024 19:21:38 2581913 Link 1 |
Less polished ? They've hurled the best in Galway this year... By far. BigBàsMan (Galway) - Posts: 40 - 01/12/2024 19:39:55 2581917 Link 0 |

December 14/15 ALL-IRELAND Club SHC SEMI-FINALS (neutral venues) Slaughtneil v Sarsfields Loughrea v Na Fianna Sunday January 19th, Croke Park ALL-IRELAND Club SHC FINAL Fionn (Dublin) - Posts: 4009 - 01/12/2024 19:54:59 2581923 Link 1 |
In fairness to Portaferry they got the gameplay right, worked really hard to limit Slaughtneils running game, and got fast ball in and put up a decent score. Think Slaughtneil were fitter and stronger and just outlasted Ferry tbh. The 2 goals lads got away from their markers who were maybe too tired to track back. 2 mighty games in the Ulster Championship all the same.
