Tomsmith here

Gaa President Jarlet Burns must have delivered the most riveting All Ireland speech (in very emotional circumstances)
when his beloved Armagh hung on to lift the Sam maguire cup..
Burns who had a son Jarlet Og who incidentally has the Ball when the final whistle was sounded.
President Burns speech referenced the work that , people who cut the grass, make the Tea or wash the Jerseys in Armagh this for you.
Very emotional , indeed as one myself who did voluntary Gaa work ( along with the great Mrs T )I found myself getting emotional

John, Joe and Michael made contribution to hurling on field greater than any speeches. I had the pleasure is seen seven Connollys go against seven Fennellys in Mullinavat.

Plenty of passion in his speech yesterday..
Great to acknowledge even the tea makers etc in the GAA. ;o)
Everyone got a mention, and that is what the GAA is all about.

John Connolly was a fine fine hurler, though it was his brother Joe who gave the speech

This is all very subjective but I personally will never forget Martin storey's bridesmaids of hurling

I thought it was an self indulgent speech by Burns. He was certainly giving it as an Armagh man, not as GAA president.

Listing out all the volunteers who make the GAA tick every day and then saying "this is for YOU!"

Why, were all the previous All-Irelands not for them? Why is this All-Ireland in particular for them?

And all the GAA volunteers from Galway who were no doubt devastated by the result, I'm sure they appreciated it that an Armagh captain lifting the Sam Maguire was in fact "for them".

He could have thanked the residents of the area..

"All these concerts are for you..."

He's a real politician in the making, won't be long until he is.

Possibly building on his opportunity to make some noise surrounding himself while he has the stage and definitely build on the hype surrounding his last speech, he definitely let the orange glasses blind him a wee bit yesterday

The honest GAA man - A vote for me, is a vote for the tea ladies.

I thought the Armagh speech would never end. It was one step away from thanking Rex the dog who collected the ball from the gripe in 2012

Burns was naturally emotional, the speech was better than the hurling one anyway. But it is harder for people to dedicate themselves to GAA in clubs and counties where they haven't a hope of winning anything...ever. Was yesterday for them also?

All nice talk from Jarlath, it's a great marketing phrase 'we all belong' ... but when it comes to GAA coaching grants etc some kids belong to the association more. It will all be hot air from jarlath unless equal funding is given to counties on a per population basis.

Jarlath had a good shot at replicating Martin Luther King's 'I have a dream' speech from 1963.

I can't see Jarlath bothering with Dáil Éireann but he'd fit nicely into the Áras….

But it may not be feasible if that fíor-gael Bertie gets his bum onto the Presidential chair.

Joe (Not John Connolly) was Captain not the president of the GAA. Do Galway folks not wash Jerseys, line pitches, Cut the grass, make tea etc. He is president of the GAA not Armagh GAA. He should be hanging his head in shame. Galway supporters and the team (who probably did not care anyway what he said) deserved better from him. If Galway had won I would say the speech would have been a lot less muted. He has let himself down and ranks as low as John Horan who used to say "We" when he was on about Dublin. GAA Presidents needs to be neutral. He wasnt.
