There is a big difference between need and greed and the GAA at Croke Park are getting to much money and the clubs are trying to get a lot more money than they need to run. https://www.irishnews.com/gaa/cahair-okane-just-because-the-gaa-can-charge-100-for-an-all-ireland-ticket-doesnt-mean-it-should-HLVKCTQPDBCBRNLV4NODQR3ZPQ/#:~:text=%E2%82%AC100%20for%20an%20All%2DIreland%20ticket%20with%20no%20gluten,poor%20for%20this%2C%20sorry'. Fair point perhaps better if county boards distribute the tickets for neutral fans. Don't know why so many neutral fans seek tickets though I would not look for a ticket for an All Ireland final unless Down we're playing because you would be taking a ticket from someone from a competing county that it would mean a lot more to.

Same here. €100 to see 2 other teams playing. No thanks. Seanfanbocht (Roscommon) - Posts: 1956 - 21/07/2024 16:16:43 2560333 Link 0 |
And how exactly do you know how much a club needs to run? No other organisation other than the GAA has to put up with this BS of only thinking about money etc as if Rugby etc don't think about it either. oneoff (UK) - Posts: 1472 - 21/07/2024 16:59:01 2560341 Link 1 |
They'd sell 200,000 tickets at €100 so you're not missed

That would be fraud. My €100 will go to my local Club where it will be appreciated. Seanfanbocht (Roscommon) - Posts: 1956 - 21/07/2024 19:27:21 2560387 Link 0 |
83% of Gaa income redistributed to clubs so don't worry about fraud. Not sure if you understand the word though. Claretandblue (Westmeath) - Posts: 1916 - 21/07/2024 22:45:40 2560448 Link 0 |
If there were 82k there yesterday then in my opinion at least 60-65k of those tickets should go to the 2 competing counties. If there is an over supply, then distribute them wherever you want. ExiledInWex (Dublin) - Posts: 1259 - 22/07/2024 10:00:33 2560503 Link 0 |
100% of my €100 went to my Club.

How many do competing counties get?

I disagree. The season ticket system is excellent and guarantees a really good 306 Cussack Stand ticket to anyone who bought a season ticket and attended 6 championship matches. This year in Galway there are around 350 season ticket holders, don't know haw many in Armagh. Clubs in counties account for more than 2 thirds of tickets which is again ensuring player and supporter members a chance of a ticket. There are only 2 games in the year that are sold out. I think there is a belief among some that all the tickets should go on sale as for a concert, with no regard for club member/regular supporters, I do not think this is the way to go either.

All those people that left after the final whistle of normal time should never get a ticket again. They obviously didn't know there was extra time so they had no idea of the match regulations., plus the ones who left a few mins early to avoid traffic etc etc Taypot (Sligo) - Posts: 52 - 23/07/2024 08:36:48 2560803 Link 0 |
If you're that worried about it then just don't go to any games and give the money to your club simple.

There are thousands of games besides the A I Final you know. I'll go to Roscommon games as usual. I won't pay €55 or €100 to see other teams playing. Seanfanbocht (Roscommon) - Posts: 1956 - 23/07/2024 10:15:06 2560822 Link 0 |
Yeah I agree. I think Armagh have a large number of Season ticket holders, not sure about Galway.

Yeah I have had a Season ticket for 11 years, its definitely they way to go for fans who attend most County games. I believe Armagh have a huge number of season ticket holders, but they also have a huge number of people getting tickets for participating in Club Armagh fundraising, as the Division 2 league game in the Athletic grounds earlier this season had a huge number of seats closed off for those fans, and they also are guaranteed All Ireland tickets. Is someone forcing you to go to other counties games?

My club uses a points system for ticket allocation, I think we stole the idea from another club. It works like this donegaldouble (Donegal) - Posts: 313 - 24/07/2024 09:07:45 2561128 Link 0 |
Are All Ireland final tickets not initially allocated to Clubs by the GAA based on the number of registered/paid members that year? In which case every paid member should be entitled to a ticket.

Didn't Armagh give every Club, big or small, the same number?
