"Kilkenny are a much harder task this year with blanchfield and carey motoring away. As a limerick man I fear them the greatest with all respect." Shouldn't you be thinking about Cork, and only Cork. Before pontificating about your fears about playing Kilkenny. Cockney_Cat (UK) - Posts: 2655 - 22/06/2024 20:13:01 2553735 Link 0 |
I think the steps rule is mis interpreted. It is right to let the player take 20 steps if he has been fouled and continues to be fouled while advancing. I am a big Limerick supporter but find it a bit ingenious to take anything from one of the best goals scored in all of the great ones ever scored.

I very much favour Cork to win it out, irrespective who they meet in the final with due respect to all. Cuhullain (Kildare) - Posts: 285 - 22/06/2024 20:57:07 2553757 Link 0 |

Let's just say they have to get over Limerick first of all before your big statement comes into play. I would give Limerick a 50/50 chance. Big statements are grand but you need to back them up.

So if fouled you can take 20 steps..wow that's a new one on me.

Would never take anything for granted. Funny you pounce on a compliment. Of the teams left in it I think limerick are rightly favourites but after that I'd have kilkenny a very close second. A lot of folks our way would prefer kilkenny in the final than clare if Limerick were blessed to get over cork. I wouldn't agree with that at all. That's what I was saying I suppose. Cork v Limerick will be epic and I expect nothing but the best of Limerick which is still to come.

We will have to disagree on that. Of the teams left I would have them at the bottom. Their flaky and with out the scores from Horgan would not be close to any the others. All teams have patches where they are dominated but Cork are the worst. If Dublin scored half their misses they would have won. Limerick miss those in Croke Park in a semifinal ?You and Cork may prove me wrong but giving them a chance against Limerick is a real long shot.

Your in esteemed company. Katser favored Galway. Now she favors Cork!

What four teams are those? Maybe you'd like to join Leinster. I guarantee you won't qualify every year.

That's the idiocy we're dealing with

So an arm tackle across the shoulder (not a pull down) is a yellow card now - its not even a free... and in the first 2 min.. that told our lads straight away how this was going to go TomWex (Wexford) - Posts: 85 - 23/06/2024 08:31:52 2553902 Link 0 |
They're a bit like the weaker Ulster football teams basking in the reflection of Tyrone or Donegal or Armagh!

If Cork play like they did yesterday against Dublin, they will be annihilated.

It's not new on the refs who frequently allow players to seriously overcarry if being fouled or if escaping from a foul.

I understand granting an extra step or two but surely there has to be a limit where both players are fouling and then the free in is given.
daveboy (Limerick) - Posts: 1197 - 23/06/2024 11:46:35 2553974 Link 0 |
Why shouldn't the fouler be punished by leaving the player go on and score maybe a goal. The fouler might think again before pulling and dragging and try to decapitate. We can't have it both ways. How often have you heard he should have left the play go on and we would have got a goal and won the match after being beaten by a point.

I understand your point and its well made but maybe they should bring it in as a set rule then. In other sports you do get advantage for an impingement but if you then foul a ball ie a knock on in rugby it's brought back for the initial decision of a free in for the holding in hurling. When does advantage become ridiculous? The black card is in for the reasons you say in fairness and I'm absolutely for it.
