I would definitely say it's the quality of football on show… just look at the hurling last weekend.. a full house because punters were almost certain of a top class end to end game of hurling… People would pay twice as much if they thought they were going to be entertained like that…. Football is so boring and slow that it puts people especially the young people from going….and it's hard to blame them

Stadiums and match days require huge money to run. Ticket prices aren't that high and certainly not so high that they can get rid of gaago. How do you replace the money from gaago if you remove it. Extra games can and should only be given to tg4 if tg4 want to pay to cover those games. KillingFields (Limerick) - Posts: 3674 - 09/07/2024 16:06:20 2558069 Link 0 |
That's so naive and bot backed up by any kind of rational argument.

It never ceases to amaze me how ignorant people are to the finances of the GAA. By the way some go on, you'd sware that that the GAA was this big bad organisation out to bleed you dry. Square_B (Leitrim) - Posts: 1025 - 09/07/2024 17:02:00 2558081 Link 3 |
It's not well run though. How can I watch Galway club game online but the county Connacht semi final is not available? How can I not watch a Galway all Ireland group game anywhere but can watch junior club games in Galway? People say 2 euro per game but two Galway games were not shown anywhere? You pay for GAAGo and you don't know what games will be shown Kew (Galway) - Posts: 100 - 10/07/2024 13:27:24 2558208 Link 0 |
Also Galway GAA made 250,000 showing clubs games online at a cheaper rate then GAAGo. Why don't we get the figures involved in GAAGo ? If one county can make quarter of a million showing club games with no help from rte then GAAGo should be doing very well.

Some people are only happy when they're whinging Square B and inventing reality. Give them a keyboard and a few usernames and there's no stopping them. Easier to have an online rant than do something, or even propose a solution, to their so called grievance and use some facts and cost their solution with real money and logistics. Comparing like for like would, at least, be a reasonable place to start, to be taken seriously. They're best ignored.

Problem is GAA very involves the likes of dee forces and declan mcbennett as directors and is very much profit driven, as a platform I bought it for an elderly relative, its decent value for money but the whole having to pair devices is not user friendly for elderly people, you've paid for it downloaded the app, that should be it. No games in this country are free to air, people have to pay an annual subscription, its called a TV licence!! Gaa need to seriously look at their ticket prices, a number of years they removed minor games as double headers for semi and finals. They have now increased prices ??? Why ?? It has detracted massively from all ireland d final in both codes. 55 euro for semis is too much and 100 now for final is too much, add this in to the condensed calendar and it is affecting attendances, people are voting with their feet, but not enough. totalrecall (Leitrim) - Posts: 994 - 10/07/2024 21:35:41 2558278 Link 2 |
GAAGo has had post game analysis show uploaded on YouTube and twitter for all the hurling. even the games on rte, but still have nothing for the football between Dublin and Galway, which Gaago had behind the paywall. This is the inconsistency of GAAGo. You are paying for a service but you do not know what you are getting. Kew (Galway) - Posts: 100 - 12/07/2024 20:18:36 2558625 Link 0 |
It looks like the Galway v Armagh classic from 2022 has been removed on YouTube. If the GAa are going to remove games or highlights from everywhere they should have the lot on GAAGo for fans Kew (Galway) - Posts: 100 - 25/07/2024 13:40:30 2561492 Link 0 |
RTE are getting a bailout of 750 million euro. What money are they making from Gaago? Kew (Galway) - Posts: 100 - 29/07/2024 16:07:40 2562706 Link 0 |

Is the plan for GAAGO to continue to show games overseas?

Not sure Seanfanbocht. Overseas was always done separately so I imagine so.

GAAGO sent out surveys to customers last week via e-mail. 5 free season passes in a draw for those that fill in the survey. Hopefully they'll pay heed to any feedback they get but I wouldn't be so confident that they will. GreenandRed (Mayo) - Posts: 7651 - 07/08/2024 12:10:18 2564141 Link 0 |
Hopefully Virgin Media, I like TG4 but I'm not fluent in Irish, I know sometimes what they're talking about by picking up a word here and there

They have started LOI so hopefully they put in for this TG4 also deserve some games for their outstanding coverage for past 25 yrs jm25 (Galway) - Posts: 1285 - 07/08/2024 13:43:34 2564162 Link 0 |
Didn't see any empty seats at the Galway/Armagh final.

Correct. Yet some Hurling Final tickets went on public sale 5 or 6 years ago. Seanfanbocht (Roscommon) - Posts: 1956 - 08/08/2024 08:42:02 2564214 Link 0 |
