Sure the groups aren't even drawn at that stage. You could be paying 70 euro and not get any game involving your county at all. id love to know where the cost is going because we are getting very little value.

A lot of games haven't been on it. Do you expect GAAGO to broadcast every intercounty senior championship game? Can you watch every club game with the quality of commentator, analysts, camerawork, sound quality and digital broadcast quality that GAAGO gives? I could stream a game on my phone from the sideline but the quality will be poor. LOITV is a fixed camera in the stand, not great analysis, for most games and fair play they have an audience for it. I got it during COVID and if they were streaming cricket from a phone I'd probably have watched that at the time. If you don't like GAAGO don't buy it. But at least no-one will be knocking on your door asking why you didn't buy it and threatening you with legal action.

Yes I do expect them to do every game and if they dont want to let others show the games. The Connacht semi final was not shown anywhere. Let Connacht GAA stream it they do a great job during the FBD. GAAGO is not high quality and has a large amount of time given to advertisements. Why are they wasting money on Youtube videos that get a couple hundred views. Copy LOITV coverage for the games they believe has less interest in or let TG4, clubber or County and provincial streams show the games instead. combo (Galway) - Posts: 10 - 04/06/2024 15:14:05 2549449 Link 0 |

Why do you think you have a right to be able to see every championship game anyway? RHF (Cavan) - Posts: 878 - 05/06/2024 08:46:48 2549604 Link 1 |
What give RTE the right to stop others from showing the games? The games would be shown if the were allowed

The GAA own the rights.

Maybe it would be better if even less football matches were scheduled to be live on tv… It's only highlighting how woeful Gaelic football actually is…!

Looked at a good few underage games on clubber costing €11.99 each. The channell is poor quality with one camera swinging from end to end. I bought a game there recently and the Commentator didn't turn up. Silence for the whole ĝame. On an other occasion the camera man had to give commentary for the first half !!! No clubber would not in my opinion be a good idea for championship games. Gaago are .much critised but they are a quality product. Good camera work, good comentators and good panel discussions. Clubber on the other hand are like something from the dark ages and very much overly expensive and not fit for purpose. Magpie2 (Wexford) - Posts: 386 - 08/06/2024 13:02:07 2550160 Link 1 |
GAAGO are showing both hurling quarter-finals here in England. They are charging £9.60 a game. I would like to watch both games, but I'm not willing to pay £19.20 for about 5 hours of sport, so I'll pay for one game. The two matches are in the same stadium, being played one after the other. Couldn't they have offered a two game package deal? Say for around £14 for both. It seems to me that they are missing out on extra revenue here. Disappointed so many missed out on the mayo v Derry game, it was great. Crashed a few times on me. Shame rte are more interested in the euros and urc to show the GAA. Kew (Galway) - Posts: 100 - 23/06/2024 12:12:55 2553989 Link 0 |

I bought a lot of their 2 for 3 deals this year, is buying a single game the only option for you? Seems a bit much for one game alrite, even the €12 per game here isn't the worst value

Let rte be rte. I'd be more concerned with the influence and power the GAA has allowed that organisation to have over our own organisation thanks in main to the actions of our previous esteemed president. tearintom (Wexford) - Posts: 1427 - 23/06/2024 13:55:13 2554015 Link 2 |
They had hurling and Eutos on too. Not every RTE viewer wants to watch GAA sport, some have no interest in sport.

You are just happy no one saw mayo choke again. Rte and GAA need to let others show the games if they won't. Euro and urc with no Irish involvement gets shown instead of Gaelic football quarter finals? It's a disgrace

They are contractually obliged to show urc as a media partner of the competition. If munster and or leinster had won their knockouts the game would have been huge ....

It really wouldn't Munster won it last year and no big deal. It's after the Lord Mayor show for Leinster after losing EC final sure the likes of James lowe didn't play in it till end of season It like the league cup in soccer or tailtean cup jm25 (Galway) - Posts: 1285 - 23/06/2024 18:29:12 2554079 Link 0 |
No big deal? It was huge for munster especially as it was a first trophy in over a decade, it showed Graham rowntree was right guy in the role. Pro rugby teams can only win 2 trophies a season so winning one especially now South Africans are in the league is very good and it's a tough thing to do Leinster want a 5th European cup but also still want the league. Yes Lowe doesn't play much but that's simply because of strength in depth leinster have over nearly every team in league that they can afford to have some of their top players play very little and they will still top or be near top of league come playoff stages. It isn't near the same as those soccer gaa competitions and the comparisons are way off. KillingFields (Limerick) - Posts: 3674 - 23/06/2024 22:11:11 2554183 Link 0 |
Yes it's a secondary competition as you say yourself. It's not huge sure didn't Leinster play a weak side last year in a semi final. It's just not going to grab public attention with so many poor teams like zebrr dragons and very rarely teams are at full strength jm25 (Galway) - Posts: 1285 - 24/06/2024 08:47:55 2554230 Link 0 |
Leinster don't care about urc they let the fullback go off and play 7s rugby instead. Rte had never shown it until 2 or 3 years ago, because it's cheap and fills timeslots like repeats they have on. They aren't even going to bother showing it next year. It was won by the Scots for god sake.
