Replying To Redhot:  "Are Cork out of the AI hurling championship ?"
The loser of this match will have a serious uphill battle with 2 losses. Not impossible but very improbable. A lot of things would have to go their way to qualify for the Munster Final. Hon The Banner.

There is a total of 20 points up for grabs with 5 rounds. It is not beyond the bounds of possibility that all 5 teams could end up on 4 points each. Waterford even if they lose their next 2 games will come to Limerick on the last day possibly with a win putting them through. I think whoever loses will still have a chance given the competitiveness of the Munster championship with all teams likely to get a least one win.

Replying To Canuck:  "I am not saying it is right how a Leinster team can be relegated out of the McCarthy or its fairness. However what would it achieve if Waterford had been relegated last year. Definitely not promoted hurling and probably killed it in the county. If Wexford were relegated the same would be true. It is not doing anything for the Westmeath's etc. either. Becarefull about throwing rocks. Especially with your so called "Leinster" championship. Or is it the Leinster, Connaught and Ulster hybrid championship. I have been in favour of an open draw league type championship. There is a structure that would make practically every position on the table significant. Scrap the league and if provinces want their own championship go ahead and have it. More time created and player welfare better."
I don't think anyone is saying Waterford should have been relegated last year but its the protection 5th place in Munster get compared to Leinster, would a play off between Waterford and Westmeath who came 6th in Leinster be a fairer situation for example? Hypnotically a team in Munster could lose every game they play for the next 5 or 10 years and never face the risk of relegation.

I'd say they'd want to be hypnotized alright to lose every game for the next 10 years, as you say!

Hypnotically, eh? Cos with Waterford's record in Munster over the past three years (W2 L7) they might as well have been asleep! Ba-dum tssss

Look some of the best games I have watched over many years have been in Leinster. However the competition for winning that title is not there. Look Galway are not a Leinster team and take them out and what have you got. Cusack was right when he said yesterday's game with Kilkenny was shadow boxing for the Leinster final. No disrespect to the other teams but the facts. The presenter tried to get smart showing a lack of knowledge saying they were not allowed play in Munster. They did and were not competitive and pulled out to see could they advance in the McCarty cup. They did right to a semi-final. Your hypothetical at the moment if it happened would still have that Munster team probably in the top three of Leinster. I would love to see Carlow, Westmeath etc. change that. Relegating them up and down from the McCarthy Cup does nothing either for the sport in those counties. All this talk about Wexford getting relegated is also nonsense. Just because they lost one game and drew one.

You can read what you want into those results. Beat Tipp last year and gave Limerick a tough battle. Would you say better than Tipp did yesterday ? Yes Clare put a good beating on Waterford. The point I am making in the Munster championship you may not win a game and not be a bad team. If Cork don't win a game this year that will not make them a bad team either. Just not as good as the other teams in the province.

Predictive text can fool us all at times, but hey at least I can be transparent about which county I'm from.

If you took Galway out of Leinster we would have won more Leinster titles since 2019. And won it in 2017 also.

The fans would agree with you too. 9000 at Galway v Kilkenny is a realy pathetic turnout but due to the fact that even the supporters dont believe Leinster is competitive enough

There's numerous factors when you get crowds like this, not that long ago (2012) a Munster semi final between Clare and Waterford only got 12k in Thurles.

You are talking about 2 poorly supported teams there. LRH.

Clare have been annihilated two years in a row against Kilkenny in the all Ireland, Galway should have one Leinster Last year if it wasn't for a last minute goal.

Galway and Kilkenny can easily beat anyone in Munster with the exception of Limerick who are leagues above the rest of Ireland.

Galway would compete just fine in Munster, as would Kilkenny
