Not out mathematically but left with a green mountain to climb.

Only one team has ever got through after losing first 2 games. Its very unlikely and needs results elsewhere to go for Cork.

Don't think so.. The permutations are all over the place. We lost 2 games in 2019 and still won Munster so it's not a done deal yet.
That said the loser on Sunday is in big trouble. A draw not much good either.

It's possible to qualify with just one win. If Limerick and Clare both win their remaining games and Cork, Waterford and Tipperary beat each other, then the table would be:
Limerick 8, Clare 6, Cork 2, Waterford 2, Tipp 2
and the third qualifying place would be decided on score difference from all games.

Can you imagine the whingeing there would be about that, considering all the negativity around the football groups with three qualifying. Although a single draw could be enough to go through there.

if sundays match is a draw and both lose one of the remaining 2 matches that would probably put both cork and clare out of the championship.

Not necessarily. The table could finish in that case as:
Limerick 8, Clare 3, Cork 3, Waterford 3, Tipperary 3. Both could qualify on score difference.

Wexford were Leinster Champions in 2019 after winning just one of the group games in a five-team group, same as Munster is still a five-team group today:

True but they got five points after three draws. Big difference in losing three rather than drawing three and still qualifying.
Interestingly, had it been 3 points for a win (as in soccer and Ladies Football) Wexford wouldn't have qualified at all.

They have nothing to worry about, relegation isn't a thing in this lop-sided championship structure.......that's only for those other counties. Relax!

To my mind, 3 pts for a win seems unfair in Ladies Football - 3 draws should be worth more than one win and two losses - and in most cases, makes no difference, so why change from 2 pts for a win?

Yeah, but I was just giving it as an example of how you can indeed go through with just one win from four group matches. Your hypothetical example would be another way.

The three points for a win is a red herring. Has never been a call for it in GAA, and to be honest, I don't understand why Ladies Football uses it. Was introduced to soccer primarily as a way of trying to prevent teams from settling for a draw in the closing stages of the close game, but that's not something you can really do in hurling or gaelic football anyway.

I am not saying it is right how a Leinster team can be relegated out of the McCarthy or its fairness. However what would it achieve if Waterford had been relegated last year. Definitely not promoted hurling and probably killed it in the county. If Wexford were relegated the same would be true. It is not doing anything for the Westmeath's etc. either. Becarefull about throwing rocks. Especially with your so called "Leinster" championship. Or is it the Leinster, Connaught and Ulster hybrid championship. I have been in favour of an open draw league type championship. There is a structure that would make practically every position on the table significant. Scrap the league and if provinces want their own championship go ahead and have it. More time created and player welfare better.

I was being facetious, not 'throwing rocks'. The Munster Hurling Championship is a great competition, the Leinster not so great. It can't be right or fair, if both are treated the same when qualifying for the AI. The problem is, and it's the same with football, the provinces are not the same. I agree with what you say. I think the qualification process needs to change. Maybe have two, roughly equal, balanced groups, similar to the current league structure.
