We've a better championship record against Kilkenny than Galway have the last 7 or 8 years.

Replying To Wexfordgaa:  "Went today hoping for a good game But by Jaysus that was pathetic from Dublin. Someone said hard luck to Dublin there was no hard luck they were a shambles never laid a hurl in Kilkenny. Kilkenny never got out of first gear. Zonal marking against Kilkenny what were they doing as for the keeper he's decent but the poor man had a mare. Mullins had the whole of croker to play with.

Cork will win next two games by 20 plus point"
Tactically awful from Dublin

When KK shut off their running game they had no Plan B

I was nt too impressed with Dublin during the league tbh and did nt give them a prayer in the LHC but they proved me wrong.I wondered was Micheal O Donoghue the right man for the job but getting to the Leinster final was a great achievement.I thought the caught Wexford on the hop but after watching the Galway game I gave them a gpod chamce v the Cats.I wondered about the Galway game and if the sending off had nt happened. However Dublin were excellent v Galway.Today though its back to reality again for Dublin hurlers and no disrespect to Offaly but they will be facing a hungry team of fine hurlers from Cork. Now while I expect Cork to win its a chance for Dublin and Micheal Donoghue to prove Dublin are better than ee witnessed today.

There is little doubt that Dublin are better than what we seen from them yesterday… l said at the time that the game against Galway was really decided by two woeful refereeing decisions and that Dublin was not as good as they thought… They stood of Kilkenny far too much and when in possession themselves couldn't cope with Kilkennys physicality… God help them if they ever come up against Limerick in that sense… The last game v Kilkenny was in Parnell park which is woefully tight for hurling and a less important group game but when it comes to Croke park in a Leinster Final we say the real Kilkenny and the huge gap between the teams…!

Wexford have the best championship record against Kilkenny for the last 7 years.

I know Galway have one all Ireland in there but in the round robin era have qualified for fewer all Ireland series.

It is the only real rivalry in Leinster hurling.

Not a great final but Dublin are not the first team to get a trimming from Kilkenny and wont be the last. Overall it was a very enjoyable championship, congrats to Kilkenny.

Yesterday was Kilkenny's 76 Leinster Senior Hurling title.
And their 21st since 1998...
4th time to win a 5 in a Row...

Is it time to take the Cats out of Leinster and make Leinster more competitive.?

Only 35,000 at a double header yesterday - are the Cats taking the Leinster as a foregone conclusion and no longer go to games until the nitty gritty side of the Championship,...

Inquiring, for many a concerned neutral GAA fan...

I guess you post in jest Fionn but in truth the very name of the Leinster hurling championship is kind of funny anyway.I mean Lwinster hurling has Galway Antrim playing and a few years back Kerry hurlers played in it also.Thats the 4 provinces playing in Leinster. Now while I know Galway and Antrim have to be accomodated somewhere it think its wrong to have them in while Laois and Offaly are not.I know Galway played in the Munster hurling champiinship years back (and never won a game im told)but at mo the Munster championship has all Munster teams..

The Cats aren't particularly well supported but like any county many will travel for AISFs and AIFs. What alot of people forget is that Kilkenny is a small enough county population wise. They deserve massive respect for the consistent success they have achieved down the years.

We'll have to take Limerick out of Liam McCarthy too then.

It was a very hard watch yesterday. Saying that there is no way they are as bad as that performance .
They just never got going or were nt let to a certain extent . Think all teams have days like that especially ourselves .
I d feel for the Dublin players as they put in as much work as any other team . You would hope it does nt leave a lasting legacy .
Sometimes tradition gives a team a 4 or 5pt advantage add in that dubs were nt at their best where kilkenny were clinical and when that happens look out there will only be one winner only question is by how much .
Body language even after first goal told the story it was only going one way kilkenny had laid down the marker early.
. I d even dare to say Limerick would conciously or sub cinciously have more fear of kilkenny than any other opposition .
Kilkenny are kilkenny and will always be competitive.
Cork and tipp being the other traditional powerhouses don't seem to be able continuously stay at the top of the pile and have dips not elongated ones but dips, as opposed to kilkenny i dont ever remberer a time when u would say kilkenny are nt going to be at least a threat to any team any year.
. Cork look like they are going to be at top table again offaly on the rise long way to go but green shoots .
Tipperary eill bounce back quick too I d think to good nit to.
I think offaly being back in leinster will certainly add to the competivemess and wil fear no one .
The debate of leinster v munster always amuses me its set up to let munster be most competitive with only the 5 teams and no change ever .
Should it change everyone has an opinion .
The fairest way would be to have 2 mixed groups .
But the munster hurling supporters will never agree unless there is an advantage to their teams .
At present no fear of relegation ever . so all u need to do is work on being more competive in a given year .
I d like to see 2 groups of 6 mixed .
Where top 4 in each group qualify for 1/4 finals possibly
or
Top munster and leinster team in each group qualify for the provisional finals . Winners into semi final losses into 1/4 final .
Provisional 1/4 finals between next best qualifier group 1 and next best 2nd qualifier group 2 and vice versa . Winners into 1/4 final proper .
5th place teams out 6th place teams relegation final .
Advantage more games , provisionals kept . Best 8 teans in country should be into knock out stages no team exempt from relegation . 12 teams in round Robins.
Munster if that far ahead of leinster hurling should all qualify for knock out stages .
Joe mac winners replacee the relegated team ..
Groups change every year depending on seeding after previous years group placings .
Potentially huge games on each weekend also possibly some games where they may not be as competitive and less intense much like at present all teams get to play inter provisional games and I know I d love to be travelling or hosting a munster team each year can only improve the stand country wide
Giving every team a chance to recover from a bad day
Reward still for provisional winners and losers . Joe mac finalists not rewarded in same year possibly only pitfall . But realistically week after their final how much emphasis do they put on provisional 1/4 final shot in the dark really . surely nothing else on their minds other than Joe mac znd qualifying for next years Liam mac Carthy.
At present in theory you could win the all ireland but still be in Joe mac Donagh the next year .
To balance out the groups a team would have to be added into munster championship. Which team could be changeable. Galway Antrim kerry . Leave leinster counties in leinster . Prefer ro keep Galway in leinster to balance the provisional competition .
All this is based on 30 min delay in munster final at present .

None of those wins were over Clare, Waterford, or Kerry of course.

For information and to counter your ignorance. Kilkenny, county and clubs do 'play both.
