Replying To foreveryoung:  "I credited Wexford with your Leinster title in 2004. Any other silverware to mention? I don't celebrate or parade defeat where I come from.

If you have a loser's mentality and like letting us all know that it is something that you're proud of, then so be it!"
That was the original point though- Kilkenny won most of the silverware. And you have just conceded your opening point, that Limerick have had it tougher than Kilkenny did. Kilkenny had more rivals that won silverware than Limerick have had. Since Limerick won the AI in 2018 only Tipp have won it once, noone else has won Munster, and only Kilkenny and Wexford have won Leinster. So you are saying Limericks great run is devalued because they have nearly no decent opposition, as hardly anyone else has won any silverware?

Excuse me sir. While you are right about Limerick, it is the Dubs that I follow in football, ever since the days of Heffo's Army! I'd even support Cork against Kerry in football.

Having said that, Kerry do play a very good brand of football; always have!

Replying To Jedobi:  "6 All Ireland's, 21 Leinster Championships , 4 Leagues...you obviously don't know anything about Wexford."
The timeframe under discussion is the Cody era, particularly when they did the 4-in-a-row, not the almost entire 140 years that teams having been playing the championship.

30 titles over 137 years amounts to about a title every 4.5 years. I suppose it is better than a lot of counties, to be fair to Wexford!

He probably used to support Man Utd and now supports Man City in soccer! And flip flops between the Rays and Marlins depending who is doing better!

Replying To bloodandbandage:  "I know that, but Cork won the AI's in '04 and '05, and we if we are talking about the great KK team it must be from '06 to '16. My response to Doyler was what warrants the term decent? and tbh, to say all those teams back then were decent, and Limerick's opposition today are not, is simply not true.
People still to this day say Clare won a soft AI in 2013, again, there is no such thing as a soft AI. If you've won won (I haven't but my brother has) then you know what you had to go through to get there, and get over the line.
people will continue to argue who's better, but at the end of the day it doesn't mean s**t. Both teams were and are brilliant.
BTW, Cork after '07 were not decent.."
Decent now though Bloodandbandage.

Replying To Doylerwex:  "I'm a little surprised at you. Tipp won the all Ireland in 01.....?? Are you being serious?

Kilkenny certainly dominated in that period in Leinster but have Galway really changed that? Wexford are the last ones to beat them in the final the same as it was in 97 and 04. As always, their biggest challenge in the Provence is Wexford. Galway and Offaly aren't really in this equation. No delusion, just reality.

I am open to correction, but I'm 99% sure that Offaly and Clare both contested all Ireland finals in the early 00s if not the end of the 90s. They were in decline, but had serious players at the time.

I've already explained why I thought Wexford were decent from 01-07 so I won't go over that again."
Offaly in 2000. Clare in 2002.

Possibly the worst comment I've seen on here in 10 years. Devalued. No one else has won anything because they're the greatest to ever do it. The round Robin is ferocious. Look at last 3 years. Kilkenny lost in 2010 due to 1 major injury. 1 injury derailed them. Limerick have had several every year. Some posters here just can't enjoy greatness when it's staring them in the face. You'd wonder are they hurling people really? I went to as many kilemny AI finals as i could between 05 and 16 because they were the greatest at the time to do it. I loved watching them. Their physicality their mental strength their confidence their skill level. It's just been an enormous coincidence that this Limerick team came right on their heels. Or is it? This Limerick team was moulded on kilkenny with a sprinkle of a genius in Kinnerk. As christy Ring said the greatest are here and now but the greatest are still yet to come.

I think the current Limerick team are the greatest of all time. That post was just pointing out inconsistencies in our American friends argument;-)

Replying To Westfester:  "Showing serious disrespect to a proud hurling county.
Many counties often have decent teams that don't win trophies. You claim to have some affinity with Limerick so you should know that there can be "unlimited heartbreak" between successfull eras.
Unfortunately bandwagonners like yourself don't appreciate tradition and sporting respect between hurling counties."
It is ironic that you mention affinity to Limerick but not surprising that you mention "unlimited heartbreak". I well remember your posts on Hoganstand in the days before this glorious golden era for Limerick hurling started. They were full of complaints and morbid negativity: why was this fella picked? why didn't the team management do this or that? If this was done or that was done... Nothing constructive at all to contribute and a lot of the time just at loggerheads with one Pathological.

Since Limerick have started winning, I have yet to see a comment from you where you commend the players, team or management. You seem the sort that was happier when you had something to complaint or be miserable about, when Limerick were losing. Would it begrudge you, and you deem yourself a Limerick person, to utter one positive comment about the current Limerick setup? Of course, their winning has now obliterated your negative, useless opinions and alleviated you of a source of griping and complaint.

Replying To Doylerwex:  "I was referring to a little earlier. Wexford were in semi finals in 01, 03, 04, 07. Lost a quarter final by a point in 08.

Lost by 2 points in 02 final, won in 04, lost by 3 in 05. Beat Limerick, Waterford, tipp, drew with Tipp and Cork in that era too. We beat everyone except Kilkenny in 07/08. It was a decent Wexford team.

I also wouldn't say we were blown away in 06. 07/08 finals were awful. 07 aisf was ok."
The 2007 AISF was something like a 12 point defeat. Despite Limericks disastrous start, their 7 points defeat was easily the narrowest victory margin Kilkenny had that year.

It was ten points. It was a very even game until early in the second half when current manager Keith Rossiter got his finger broke. A melee broke out which rattled us a bit and we didn't really recover.

I collect club and county jerseys and believe it or not I bought a Limerick one for that final.

I'd 50 quid on a Wexford Limerick final since January of 07. So close yet so far.

Didn't Kilkenny have a player sent off in the 2007 Final v Limerick.

Your memory is not forever young as it is obviously failing you. You can search the archives here but you will not find one post from me criticising any Limerick player or manager past or present. Plenty of genuine Limerick posters can verify that.
As for being at loggerheads with that other poster who was well known for personal attacks on players, I'll take that as a compliment thank you.

No question but that Kilkenny team was the greatest until this present Limerick team arrived and now wears that crown. I don't know who does not respect the cats ever but now Cody's whining about that. Just a smoke screen that is fooling no one. Leinster need a strong Wexford, Offaly,Dublin etc. Lots of support to get Laois Carlow and Westmeath up there. There is absolutely no reason why Leinster should not have a competitive championship or be a force in a proper national competition.
