The draw shouldn't prohibit previous match ups imo. Every preliminary qfinal winner should have a 25% chance of drawing Dublin or Armagh, not a 50% chance, as was the case for some teams in today's draw. For example, it's daft to be rewarding Louth with a golden ticket to avoid Dublin in a qfinal, when it's almost inevitable that Louth will meet Dublin in Leinster every season now, such is the poverty in the volume of quality football teams in Leinster. Draw the teams fair and square from the 2 pots for the qfinal, and drop this fixation we have in the GAA with the avoidance of repeat fixtures. The bookies have the quarter finals down as easy wins for: Armagh 3/10 Dublin 1/4 Donegal 1/7 Kerry 1/3 Is there any point Roscommon, Galway, Louth and Derry turning up at all after their exertions at the weekend? Something wrong with the system when all four of these four teams are given little chance. Did my own pricing before I saw PP and I had Armagh 4/7, Dublin 1/2, Donegal 1/2, Kerry 4/7. Market is dominated by them and is small and restricted on stakes so prices offered invariably a bit off. The four seeded teams are favourites on form and extra week no doubt a benefit but those games, or some of them at least, be closer than some think, and a surprise or two not beyond possibilty. Two stand out ties obviously Dublin vs Galway and Derry vs Kerry. It would be great to see two upsets and blow the Championship wide open. Can't see it though. I am happy with drawing Kerry. The Dubs would be too hot too handle for us and Donegal are in our heads from earlier in the season. We should have beaten Kerry last year, the players felt they left it behind them. So it should give them added impetus to right that wrong. Kerry haven't really been tested this year- are they up to Championship speed? I ding see them as the 2/7 favourites the bookes have them as. Agree kerry may not be tested that could go either way however 2/7 odds maybe because not of disrespect but cause kerry have shown better form this year albeit not great sides and derry coming in after tough battle. It will be close either way but Ye beat Dublin early year too so but Kerry aren't far off dubai can see why you would prefer them possibly. But should be fascinating battle a test for both . Just checked PP prices for quarters for the favourites Kerry are 2/5 Armagh 2/5 Dublin 3/10 Donegal 1/5 Dublin are still favourites for Sam at 13/8.Kerry second at 5/2 slipping a little from 2/1. If they gave the team that came through the preliminary quarter finals home advantage in the quarter finals it would help counteract the 6 or 7 day turn around and give a further lift to the provincial grounds. I think it will be Dublin v Galway and Armagh v Roscommon on Saturday and Donegal v Louth and Derry v Kerry on Sunday. Louth surely cannot play Saturday and Derry on last Saturday night might buy them the extra days grace. I'd say though Galway would love one extra day too. Very unfair on Galway to have to face Dublin with a week turnaround time with their injuries piling up. A two week break and fresher legs would make for a better match. Quite a number of which went to underdog and which were under the bookies spreads: Derry, Rossies, Louth, and the spread on Dublin/Cork.
