Mayo vs Derry - Mayo brought massive intensity and physicality to Dr Hyde yesterday. If this was in Derry, with Mayo recovering from that tough one yesterday and it being a one-off do or die game, I'd fancy Derry. But I think being back in Castlebar and McStay's statement of intent post match yesterday, Mayo will pull through.

Tyrone vs Roscommon - Omagh is always a tough prospect especially in knockout. It will be physical and as much as I'd like to see the Rossies make the last 8, Tyrone should win by more than a point.

Louth vs Cork - for the good of the county and the province I would love Louth to pull through. They're a strong side, well organised and know where the posts are. As always with Cork, it all depends on which Cork turns up. Louth by a fine margin.

Galway vs Monaghan - in Pearse you'd have to fancy Galway. They have the quality. Monaghan will be far from a pushover though and if Galway don't get their noses in front early and it turns into a dog fight, who knows what will happen. If Monaghan lack anything other than high intensity then I'd fancy Galway's quality to see them over the line.

Great weekend ahead. Glad the Dubs aren't caught up in it to be honest. Thanks Cormac Costello.

You got Kerry at 4/1 a few weeks ago? Where was that?

They are flying at the minute.

For all the talk about the Dubs - kerry are quietly going about their business and improving as the season goes on.

No injuries afaik and they will be more than happy with their progress this season and how it is all unfolding."
Have they met a division 1 team yet? If not its no wonder they're flying.

The free to give Mayo the lead made no sense.
These were both big calls in the dying minutes, both clearly wrong, both in Mayo's favour and could easily have resulted in Mayo being handed a victory."
The free he gave against Fenton for overcarrying towards the end aswell was bizarre, Mayo man had his two arms wrapped around his shoulders! Should have been a few in to Dublin at a crucial time too

Replying To Donegalman:  "Does anyone know what the rules are for playing a team already played in the earlier part of the championship again in the quarter finals?

For instance, Donegal potentially could be drawn to play Tyrone, Derry or Cork once again (if they win their qualifiers). What happens then?"
Donegal can't get Tyrone or Cork in QF because they met in the group

Very similar to the free which cost Mayo the Connacht title.

It was a foot block by Fenton in the first half which the referee missed. Bad calls on both sides, no different to any game.

Thanks Brian Fenton as well. That block on ROD was exceptional, I know it was the first half. Never mind showing that clip to youngsters, it should be shown to all senior inter county teams on what you need to do to be the best. The same for Dublins equalising attack at the end. The never beaten attitude was unreal.

I think you are getting him mixed up with Matty Ruane down that end two weeks ago ;)

Yes, watch the replay. He led with his left leg and that's what blocked Ryan O'Donoghue from shooting. Clear penalty

The rule is you cant block with your foot/boot. i.e FOOT block it's literally in the name.

It was a butt block

That's not the rule at all. Firstly the ball actually hit the back of Fenlon's legs and secondly the block has to be with the foot, actually "the boot" is the term used. No free at all, an amazing block actually.

5.12 To block or attempt to block with the boot
when an opponent is kicking the ball from the
hand(s).

Spot on. I think it did hit his butt or top of his thighs. It certainly wasn't with his boot (booty maybe) which is what the rule states.
