Back to the League Final 2024 - Congratulations to Clare on winning the league final, in fairness to them, they dug in and ground it out in terrible conditions (specifically the wind and ground conditions were terrible). I must say they were on the money with their tackling especially, and when you consider the squad they now have, I believe they are unquestionably Limericks biggest challengers. The win at all cost mentality displayed by your manager will come at a cost, mark my words. Time you took off your green gloated blinkers.

Think the most they even played was 8 in 2018. If they had of won 3 or 4 of their first 4 they'dve only had to win 3 more.

I have no time for violence on or off the field of play. In the past, as a means of giving a dig to Galway hurling, you and others brought up the treatment of Joe Canning by a Loughrea player in a club match, giving the impression that Galway ppl condone such behaviour. Far from it. The player who savaged JC should have been banned for life but when it comes to violence the GAA has lost all credibility and unfortunately our justice system is also corrupt, favouring the rich and powerful. Maybe you should change the name to thelonggrudge. Begrudgery hopping of the page. No need for courts in Offaly and Galway.

Tune out Baire. You might find something else that you'd enjoy more. The GAA will be fine without you. I'd hate if you were judge jury and executioner for every 19 year old who made a bad decision. In.the end of the day hurling is a hobby and no one should be banned for pursuing a hobby for something they did 5 years previous. This kiely bashing is pathetic also. He was asked as a character witness for a man he coached and nurtured from a young age. Spoke honestly as he always has. The court then made its decision and people move on. We'll some people do anyway.

This is a measured intelligent and perfectly reasonable post. I wonder how long it will be before some of the delicate souls on here find something in it to be outraged by. skillet (Limerick) - Posts: 1103 - 08/04/2024 15:35:45 2536630 Link 0 |
Very well said Daveboy. Maybe Baire is Katser by another alias or a first cousin that we love to listen to the parade of "if onlys" Have seen posts on here by similar supporters after Galway has just won the first round of the league and on Monday morning the chat on here had already fast forwarded climbing the hogan stand. Then there's the great leveler story of the Limerick supporters who was sitting in front of a few galway supporters in Salthill during a league game in which Galway were leading by about 10 points at half time and the taunt began … they ( Limerick) are not a hurling county. Limerick stormed back and won the game. That game is actually cited as the beginning of belief and the great turn around in fortune or misfortune depending on your attitude. LOOK AT ME NOW MA! It's also possible that the Katsers and Baires of the world chose to view the the 2017 win as the beginning of a 3,4, or 5 in a row which now hurts so good coming from a non big three or a non hurling county . All this from a county with a whopping 5 All- Irelands in the bag. Sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. Limerick's run will come to a end someday as all good things do and if we never win another quarter or a game we will from hereon be proud of and grateful to this great brunch for restoring the pride we'd lost. We'll stand and cheer for the next great exponents of the great game, whoever they be. In the meantime, lots more to go, lots more to do. Come On Ye Boys In Green! The so called 'dig' is actually people highlighting hypocrocy. I have no doubt that Galway Hurling People in general abhor violence on the Field as Indeed most Limerick People are of the same view. However it is true to say that the GCB did not cover themselves in glory in the way they dealt with the culprits in that case. Your continuous whinging about the case is interesting. A number of players from other counties have been convicted of Assault and they were back playing for their counties in jig time and despite being convicted of a serious offence than Hayes was they got the Benefit of the Probation ACT. The silence from the likes of Yoi and your Friends was almost deafining in all those cases.

"The GAA will be fine without you", that says it all! You think this click bait forum of anonymous posters is the GAA! You'd want to get off your high horse and tune into the real GAA. There are posters from your county coming on here calling players from other counties savages and cheats, claiming that Limerick are squeaky clean and don't get fair play from referees - you'd swear ye had never won an All Ireland in your lives - if we don't call those imposters out who will? baire (Galway) - Posts: 1849 - 08/04/2024 19:37:04 2536727 Link 1 |
I'm not commenting on what drivel goes on here. I just comment on posts that interest me and poke my radar. I've no high horse to sit on never have. I've been involved in grass roots GAA all my life. What I dislike is character assassination as you called it for the click bait brigade. I comment on things I feel are within my knowledge base and I would never call anyone that plays hurling anything but courageous and selfless. You engage with the click bait I try and avoid. I know precisely what the GAA means and stands for.

Listen Dave, I wasn't referring to you when I wrote those posts or to other posters from your county who are fair and genuine supporters but there are a few from your county who have written disgraceful things about KK, Clare and my own county. I'm not going to name them or engage in a tit for tat. I lost respect for your manager the day he tried to influence referees and accused the Galway team of cheating on national tv. I'll say no more on the matter and will happily get back to my real life.

Kiely at the time retracted his comments and apologised. You're certainly not one for second chances. As the saying goes each to their own.

A sensitive lot on Shannonside. We are just posting a comment on a recent event.

As a certain commentator said at the time, he knew exactly what he was doing. We'll leave it at that.

Going back to final on Saturday night, ref had a decent game..thought black card was very harsh, and I thought the shoulder incident wasn't a booking..two other incidents,Davy Fitz's goal, definitely a question over steps..the challange on Aidan mc Carthy for his second goal, definitely a yellow, bordering on red as it was wreckless and dangerous, led with his boot..thought some players were still trying to buy frees on both teams..I'm really interested to see how the reffing goes from here..hope it's not going to be a controversial year..
