I was definitely much more confident at this stage last year.If John Conlon and David Fitzgerald play out of their skins we have a good chance. Darragh Lohan or Tony Kelly in midfield? If Lohan plays it could be a huge game for him. Rory Hayes has made mistakes in big games before, so no better time to really prove himself. Aidan McCarthy is doing really well on the frees, but from open play I am not convinced he is better than Ian Galvin. The benches will be important, and Shane Meehan is our best prospect of adding something different and unexpected. MiAmigaVERONICA (Clare) - Posts: 317 - 08/06/2024 10:25:51 2550144 Link 0 |

Is Clare and Limerick even a rivalry? clare dont beat us when it matters. How many of the clare team would make Limerick 15 or even 26 match day panel? Limerick 3-30 Clare 0-16. Gillane, Morrisey and Hegarty to run riot. LimerickForLiam24 (Limerick) - Posts: 143 - 09/06/2024 13:44:20 2550305 Link 0 |

Only 7 posts so far, and everyone I've seen you're giving it large. Pride comes before a fall.

Congratulations to your county on a massive massive achievement. Yours is truly a magnificent team under excellent management and coaching. Yeah, for sure you were well the better team on the day. From a Clare perspective, I think (if we get over the banana skin of the quarters) we can still impact on the All Ireland series. It may well be the end of the road for many of our own fine team, so I do not think they will go out with a whimper. The pressure was on Clare today more from the big lead they let slip in the last game rather than the other two finals. Roll on the next game, and who knows our paths might cross again this year. Each game has a life on its own, to use the old cliche.

I'd pose a question to all Clare supporters and I'm not trying to be anyway smart..have Clare performed better as a team without tk..in my opinion they have..thought today leen,Fitz,Duggan and o Donnell were excellent..rogers got 2 goal chances that should have been put away but in fairness he did well in 2nd half..I was delighted when I saw tk starting,it meant no lift for final 20 mins when needed..I know he scored 3 from play but it was back to old days where he was taking frees from all over, even one from outside his own 21..Diarmaid Ryan wasn't in game and neither was malone..we are in dream territory in limerick and I'd worry we could get caught by cork in semi..I would safely say to if Nicky was Clare keeper ye would be champions..ye will have a dodgy quarter more than likely against Wexford and they'll love a crack off ye….best of luck in next few weeks. We had tougher training. Roll on the 6 in a row. Red Cow booked for All Ireland weekend.

No shame on Clare going toe to toe with this Limerick machine that has no equals now or ever for that matter. Both counties a breath of fresh air to the great game and thanks for burying the tradition final nonsense we have had to listen to in the past. I would generally agree with you. I am still trying to figure Clare's plan going into this game, or any game. Terrific hurlers playing as individuals is what I see. Goalie is certainly an issue, indecision st critical times in the last couple about coming out or staying on the line is a problem with Quilligan. Having said all that, Rodgers was very unlucky to hit the post, O'Donnell was mugged on several occasions but no foul called.and it was hard at times to figure out what a foul is with Colm Lyons. Great atmosphere, both teams gave their all. Clare will fight another day!! Shannonside (Clare) - Posts: 1 - 09/06/2024 20:33:26 2550417 Link 0 |
I think it is a bit harsh to say that the team performs better without Tony. He is coming back from a very serious injury, which is even harder with his advancing age, but if you compare the Clare of last year with Kelly AND Taylor the only time that team's performances were matched in any way this year without them was in Cork. Yes, for sure we need to start thinking of a future without Tony and Shane (and Conlon, Fitzgerald, Malone and Duggan are also in the twilight years) but for this year they will be cornerstones of any charge we have on the All Ireland series. Hopefully Taylor too is close to fitness. I believe Tony's season has yet to start.
