Huge loss, but I suppose next man up has to be the mantra. Finn back in (with Casey switching is sides) the likely option.

Richie English is back fit also but it would be a lot to ask of him to put him back in, with no game in nearly 12 months.

Remember last year and this year there was only a score between us When they get in full flow they are awesome. They should have been way further at half time when we played them in Cork and even though we overturned an eight point deficit, they brought on subs who swung the game back into their favour. They did not have a bench when be beat them in 2018 or 2021 in Croke Park but, they do now.

Wouldn't take any notice,real Limerick fans know what cork are capable of,think we will win but expect huge performance from cork and wouldnt be surprised if cork beat us,looking forward to a great game.

Is he definitely injured or is this just being picked up from social media. I haven't seen any official source yet. I'm hoping this is just a rumour.
If he is out he will be a big loss as we have no direct replacement i.e. a playmaker who gets up and down the field and has very high levels of fitness which is vital against Cork but as John Kiely would say its the next man up and away you go. Can always make some little tweaks to compensate, like Kyle Hayes could be given more license to push on if he knows there is corner back who is just going to sit in behind him and not look to overlap.

But nothing official yet.
Kiely doesn't t play mind games so I doubt it's misinformation but maybe it's not as bad as being reported
We seem to have had a lot of hamstring injuries this year - Finn, Flanagan and now Nash
Presumably if he doesn't make it Finn will step up who hopefully is match fit
Nash is the paciest of our full back line so is a loss for this game and is the only one of the line who is an attacking option. It also weakens our bench: English has played hardly any hurling and O Connor is raw although he learned a lot from the last day in the Pairc

Nash would be a huge loss if out. Sean Finn is a different type of player and doesn't get forward as much so would effect Limerick's game plan. I would think JK may bring Flanaghan back in for O'Brien although O'Brien hasn't put a foot wrong but Flanaghan has the experience of big games in Croke Park.

Biggest loss is in the last 15 mins of the games when things open up. Nash usually comes in to his own at this stage and gets on a lot of ball and he has the fitness and speed to keep going until the end.
I agree with what you say that a tweak to the game plan might be required and also Flanagan has to start imo as he has always played well against Cork.
The bigger question for me is, will DOD start and who gets dropped to the bench. Hard to see CON getting left out of starting 15 and Reidy has had a great year too. Interesting headache for management team. If DOD starts could CON play the Peter Casey role. CON, Cian Lynch and Reidy are all interchangeable.

I think its likely Cork will struggle in Croke Park. The pressure on them to perform must be immense given they beat ye in Munster. The day Limerick bang over all the shots ye take some team will take a hammering and I just feel that Cork may be that team.

Maybe so, and we'll find out very soon. I think it's more likely that a humdinger of a game is in store. If Ethan Twomey starts, he will marshal Cian Lynch as in last game, allowing Rob Downey or Joyce to sit back in pocket. Barrett vs Hannon is crucial, and Cork have an inside line who can do damage. Darragh Donovan back, is a big plus for Limerick. Eoin Downey vs Flanagan is another matchup, with the Bull coming on, as well as the old foes O' Donoghue and Gillane. Playing to a packed Croker, this game is pick of the 2 semifinals! We're just glad to be there!

Reidy most likely to lose out if DOD is to start. It will all depend on who has been showing the best form in training. JK has generally kept the team the same as the last match and players coming back from injury having to start on the bench but given the month break he may go on form in training. Why? One of the teams are well odds-on favourites to win. Whereas, in the Kilkenny v Clare semi-final, there is nothing to choose between them.

Isn't it a formidable full back line all the same.
I mean Casey, Morrissey and then Sean Finn of all people as backup..

For once I agree with you.

Hopefully two good games but Limerick are hot favourites over Cork.

Very little between Clare and KK but I'd be expecting the cats to come through by virtue of the fact they improve a bit with every game and are very at home in croke park.

One of the pundits on Newstalk made a good point on this saying Cork are one of the few teams that play 3 up top so Limerick forced to play with an orthodox full back line who will sit and mark may not be the worst thing. Nash without doubt is a loss but I'll stick on the positive side and the gameplan will be tweaked as required.
