Never mind all these replays, tinkering around with schedules, not to mention players lives. Most of the players themselves probably wanted it decided on the day. Penalty shootouts are a fantastic test of composure, striking ability, and a goalkeepers blocking ability. The teams were given 80 minutes to settle it in open play and it reached a stalemate so that's how it was decided. Galway9801 (Galway) - Posts: 1942 - 18/12/2023 05:32:56 2517251 Link 1 |
Two excellent semis at weekend..I honestly thought ballyg would win but the attitude of st Tomas's was something they hadn't come up against in the championship so far..think final will be close but with the burkes and cooneys I'd have to fancy toms to win final..the game yesterday could have gone any way..thought olg just about deserved it..cushendall will be disappointed with some of the wides in last 10 minutes..looked to me like tehe wrong man shooting but that's easy for me to say..I must say congratulations to all clubs involved in giving us two great games..on officials thought they had great games, probably a bit more left go than normal but helped greatly.was butler a lucky man to finish yesterday as it looked to me he jumped into the tackle and made contact with the head area with a shoulder..looking forward to a great final now. Two excellent games indeed. Cushendall impressed me, but their shooting in the closing stages let them down. Will St. Thomas's be favourites the next day.?
