Ah. Our GPO Jimmy Heavey is very good and is concentrating on Football at the moment, but will do more Hurling later in the year. Its the same with the Rackard League. It's been all football so far this school year. Hurling starts in I think February. As regards the Rocks young fellas they are part of the Ballinastra, can't spell that, Gaels, who play football and hurling, so there's nothing wrong with them doing football training. I think Pikeman explained in an earlier post that really they are seperate from Kilanerin/Ballyfad and the Rocks insofar as they operate under Coiste na nOg. No, Ballinastragh Gaels are not separate from Kilanerin/Ballyfad and Tara Rocks. They're a Coiste na nÓg amalgamation of the two clubs. My earlier posts were referring to a technical point of how the amalgamation is in place only at Coiste na nÓg level (i.e. up to U18), and therefore the name Ballinastragh Gaels shouldn't be used in a competition run at adult level, which includes U21. By the way, the U21 fixtures/results being entered in the "underage" section of the Wexford GAA website really is meaningless on that point. If you want to look for the results of last year's U19 football, you'll find them under "Junior Football 2022". But nobody would claim that last year's U19 was really a Junior championship! Firstly well done to all the young lads involved a big achievement for them. Now I just want to ask 3 simple questions 1 by Tara rocks getting involved in this school 8 years ago is this an effort to get themselves as a club going as a single entity again? 2 how many young lads off this team play for the rock/ kilanerin 3 well done to Seamus Byrne for the effort he's giving giving in the schools but should praise not also be given to the coaches of the clubs where these young lads are from they are the ones who've probably trained them from April up until now? I see martins lost out on penalties in semi final ….I thought rule for draw after extra time mean replay like adult extended to u21 grade , presume final pushed back with sarsfield game being postponed BacksAndForwards (Wexford) - Posts: 34 - 05/11/2023 18:08:12 2511602 Link 0 |
Must not. The fixtures sheet sent out to clubs last week clearly says "Result on the Day". And that sheet even includes all the provisional details for finals in the various grades, so looks like the finals would go to penalties if required too.

I was in Patrick's park last night to see Glynn play ballenastragh gaels in the juvenile football final. It was a decent standard of football, the gorey lads were far sharper when they got going and well deserved their win. Yellaman (Wexford) - Posts: 126 - 07/11/2023 10:26:15 2511855 Link 0 |
That referee wasnt overly fussy in the Senior Final this year. When you see the footage of the tackles from SD that went unpunished!!

Agreed, he made ( or didn't make!!) a few strange calls in the senior final.

Do you want them to come out with an apology too?

Referee's job is very difficult. Think I would rather see them be over-fussy than see tackles like the ones that were shared around social media after the senior final go unchecked. Promising young players like Jack Higgins should be protected within the county. SunnySouthEast (Wexford) - Posts: 16 - 08/11/2023 12:29:50 2512073 Link 0 |
