Local press in Laois have questioned Gardai and GAA HQ about the crowding issues last weekend, and no comment yet Laoisvillian (Laois) - Posts: 87 - 29/06/2023 22:02:21 2490745 Link 0 |
Maybe that was it. Cork were not playing in it. Was there a minute silence at the Munster hurling final for Teddy McCarthy? StoreysTash (Wexford) - Posts: 1817 - 30/06/2023 11:34:27 2490816 Link 0 |
There is an on-going problem with two games being played in Croke park on the same day and in particular with un-reserved seating. Was at Leinster Club semi and final where there were double headers last year. After the first games were over It was next to impossible to leave from the seating area to the exit with the amount of supporters physically forcing their way into the middle section of the stand. It was like facing an oncoming train in a tunnel. The crowd wanted to get to the middle seats at any cost and barged their way through anyone in their way If Croke park persist with double headers then a simple solution of exit only at the sides of the stand and entry only at the middle will work to prevent what is now a disaster waiting to happen ExiledCuCu (Cavan) - Posts: 253 - 30/06/2023 12:41:29 2490833 Link 0 |
If they can give a ticket for each individual seat for 60k they can surely do it for 8 or 10k.

I fail to understand how the crowd issues were so bad at the same time. I've been grounds half the size of Croke Park with open seating and 15-20k with zero crowd issues. ExiledInWex (Dublin) - Posts: 1320 - 30/06/2023 16:42:52 2490880 Link 0 |
It was so strange. Apart from 2010 I never felt for my kid's safety until a match in a 82k stadium with 10k in it. It was unbelievable. And tbh the president's response was an absolute disgrace.
