Well done on winning the minor title today.
Some fine footballers on show.
Best of luck against Kerry next week also.

Thanks a lot. Based on the previous meetings it was one that looked as if it could go either way. With that big Monaghan support it looked as if your lads would get some lift. Strange not to really go for it with the wind that first half and get that crowd fired up. There could be a few lads from both squads capable of pushing on. Both counties have had some big games and a lot to build on. Good luck to yoursevles next Saturday

It is the 30th anniversary today of the 1993 semi final. I thought the Derry social media pages would have posted something.

interesting line up tonight.

I know its 'only' the mckenna but cant remember in my life time seeing 3 city lads on the team never mind 3 from the same club.

3 lads from my club steelstown playing tonight and hoping they can make a big impression

As a City man myself it was great to see the guys do well. Certainly showed they can offer something to the squad going forward. My wee boy is 5 and he is starting up at Steelstown soon and it's great to see the young lads leading the way at the club.

I see from the Irish News that Rory Gallagher is fully intended to return to Inter county management 'in the near future" and his solicitor wrote to the Derry County Board to tell them as much. Is the prodigal son about to make a return? I despair if it's on the cards.....

The Derry County Board have issued a statement rejecting any return to the Derry management but they haven't said why or on what grounds they have made this decision.
They owe an explanation to the Derry support and to anyone else who believes that RG should have been properly and fairly assessed and interviewed for the position same as everybody else although at this point in time - 11 weeks after the closing date - I don't have a baldies notion if anybody was interviewed.
Bloody shambles...

The word is that the county Board have been trying to appoint Gallagher, but that the water testing statements released that he was the favourite to take the job etc met with such a negative reaction they have taken cold feet.

I have heard on the grapevine that Mark Doran is possibly being announced in the next few days. Paddy Bradley rumoured to be involved in some capacity. Don't know how true it is mind you because there has been rumour after rumour.

You're bang on in that one Jazzy if the latest from the Irish News is to be believed and I would say there's an awful lot of the support who would be as puzzled by this as I am...
This time last year the Derry job was talked about as a glittering prospect altogether and now we've secured a club coach who's never managed at Senior...
Kinda reeks of desperation and lost opportunities...
I wish him well...

Yeah it is a bit of a left field choice but he is a talented coach who has done a very good job with Slaughtneil. I have heard Micky Moran might be part of the back room team and the Board still holding out hope for Ciaran Meenagh to return in some capacity. I think if Doran is announced with Meenagh and Moran then it will be seen as a lot more positive. I had heard Paddy Bradley mentioned too but not sure on that now.

I am past caring who the manager is going to be. Seeing Armagh win the All Ireland was an eye opener for me at how big of an anti climax the whole thing is. All the years of discussion, journalism and punditry for what? A few weeks of celebrating and bringing a cup around club halls and schools? It is old news already 2 months later.

Although having said that I was disappointed that is isn't Rory Gallagher because I was looking forward to the uproar. I had my popcorn ready.
