Replying To TerribleFootwork:  "Rossiter showed with his 2 years with the u20s that he picked what he felt was the best team to get a result on the day club was irrelevant, in the 2 Leinster finals lads from Rosslare, Horeswood, Clongeen and Duffry all figured. Was a good spread of clubs on the minor team this year too to be fair."
This is very true. I forgot about the spread of clubs on Rossiter u20 team when I wrote my post above.

Replying To wexfan09:  "Jason Ryan is confirmed as part of the senior back room team. Agree re the 20s and having 3 Oulart men over the 3 most senior teams in the county, it shouldn't happen. But I don't think many expressed an interest in it, I think different people even were phoned and asked, and no-one wanted it."
Jason Ryan and Des Mythen coming in as coaches according to that Wexford Weekly page.

Dessie Mythen added too. Still no word of a sports psychologist though.

That's a great addition.

The feedback from oilgate has been fantastic.

One of their lads said his preparation for the opposition was unreal thorough.

Very excited by the set up we have in place now. I see we will have a panel of 60 when training commences from November 24th. Would like the likes of Hanlon , Chin, Dee and Liam Og to be given more time off to get their bodies right and maybe come back in early January. I Could be wrong but I think Jason Ryan is supposed to be good on the psychological end of things . Are we likely to add a sports psychologist to the backroom team now?

I'm not in the know regarding Liam Og to be honest. Just making the point I would let the older lads come back later so they fresh come championship time

Just read in the Wexford People that Rossiter is still on the look out for a sports phycologist and performance analyst. Very encouraged by the set up he has in place so far!

That's great news for sure Afinestick. Many of us on this forum have been advocating the need of a psychologist for some time now.
Anything that can give us an edge over the opposition. Of course on the other hand if the opposition are using a psychologist as well then it may boil down to who has the best psychologist and who applies themselves better to what the psychologist is telling them.
Natural skill, physical ability, desire to win, pride in the Jersey, a willingness to learn from their mistakes, control of one's temper, encouragement to team mates, practising the skills at every opportunity, never thinking that you know it all.
These are all essential ingredients to have if you want to be a successful team. However having a psychologist in your corner may be the ingredient that is needed to give us consistency.an ingredient that we quite simply haven't had for many many years now. Think back to 1996 and Niamh Fitzpatrick. Think of Limerick and the success they have had having a psychologist on board. Mental ability is taught in all walks of life nowadays. Why not hurling?

Clonlara appointed one this year and won the Clare SHC for the 1st time in 15 years.

Seen on the Independent that the 1st league game is Feb 4th away to Kilkenny, I'd imagine Walsh Cup is on in January but probably the last year of it after the GPA vote. Think Waterford, Clare, Cork & Offaly are our other league opponents.

Was just going to say that. I presume we have cork and Waterford at home and Offaly Kilkenny and Clare away. We had Clare at home and last time we played Offaly was at home aswell.

Replying To Onfor15:  "This worry about having oulart men over the 3 teams is old fashioned nonsense. If they are the best candidates for the job then their club should be of no consequence.

Hypothetically, are you suggesting that if an Oulart candidate was clearly head and shoulders the best candidate for the under 20 job, that he should be discarded and that we should go with a lesser option, just because they come from a different parish? If so, why?"
What is old fashioned about it? I agree with the other guys it's not a good look having Minor,U20 and Senior ran by people from one club. Are there that many good Managers in Oulart? Maybe they do have a special bunch who make great Managers, I honestly don't know much about them but getting the 3 main jobs does raise that Question and people also have the right to question it at the very least. I was happy enough with Rossiter at senior,he served his apprenticeship under Davy, ran the U20s for 2 years, coached Clubs for a few years also, he was the best Wexford candidate out there. Minor level Mick Jacob into his 3rd year with no Leinster final appearance in 2 years, so everyone are entitled to ask the question why did he get a 3rd? Was there no one else interested? Did he coach this group from U14? Again I don't know. At U20 Has Rory Jacob had a similar road as Rossiter? Has he managed any Clubs? Any underage success with Club/County, He is a teacher in St Peter's ,Has he been over any of grades there especially senior? Again I don't know but maybe you would know all this. Wish them all the best of luck, it a tough job been Manager.

That's as good as we could reasonably expect. Nowlan Park the furthest, and we get to see the new Walsh Park.

U18 would be the one I'd have had the most doubt about, but the addition of JJ Doyle to the ticket is fantastic. He's a great coach and has massive managerial experience, including alot of success at Leinster and AI level.
If we get a sports psychologist would they work with our minors and u20s also?
